We had the beautiful ensuite on the ground floor. The staff were so attentive and welcoming and our room was modern but Moroccan inspired. The riad is based in the north of the Medina. It is a lively and interesting area, and it's really quiet in the riad itself. However, you do have to walk down a small narrow street to get to it which might be a bit unnerving at night. The riad only has 6 bedrooms so it's never busy, although you're at the mercy of the other guests on whether or not you have an undisturbed nights sleep. The first night we were kept awake past midnight by some French guests however, after that we slept well every night. You can hear the call to prayer at 6.30am but I imagine that's the same all over the city. We really enjoyed the breakfast, which was served fresh every morning on the beautiful rooftop terrace. The riad door is always locked so no one from the street can access; you just ring the doorbell and a member of staff quickly answers. Overall we were incredibly happy with our choice and would recommend staying at Riad Alboraq.

We were really happy with our stay at Riad Alboraq. The hosts were wonderful, super friendly and helpful with recommendations, bookings etc. The rooms are nice and clean and spacious. Our aircon didn't work, maybe had been turned off for winter but it was still 30c so could have done with it at some points. Its lovely being able to have breakfast on the roof inn the morning. The breakfast is nice and we were always VERY full after. The food is really great - we had a chicken almond pastilla which came with lots of little salads and pastries. One of my favourite meals there, though slightly more expensive but it is made fresh and from scratch. My one disappointment with the riad was the pool was so cold we couldn't use it - its in the shade all day, so not sure if this is something that could be sorted, but it was part of our booking criteria so a shame we couldn't use it. Be wary when trying to find the riad. Some scammers outside told us we couldnt go the way we wanted as they said there was a mosque (there wasnt). He then took us the long way round and forced us to pay around £17 in diram for doing so. Make sure you contact the hosts before to organise them coming to meet you. Its worth putting your data on if your provider allows low cost roaming. Everything else was great. Not too far from the centre, and the riad felt safe. The hosts are willing to help with everything. Would recommend.

A very nice experience in the heart of the Medina. The Riad was close to Jemma El Fna Square, the Souks and the principal museums and restaurants; a quiet, peaceful location in an ancient traditional building. Breakfast on the roof terrace and fabulous tea time near the swimming pool offered every afternoon in the best moroccan style. Well equipped rooms and cleanliness. Aisha and Abdhullah made my stay so special taking care of every single detail and with so much love for their committment. Marrakech is a magic place to visit and I can really suggest Riad Alboraq as one of the best Riad.

It is always extremely hard to evaluate a medium hotel when staff do a nice job. That is the case of This Riad, where treatment was gentle and staff was really worried about helping us to have a good stay. However, in terms of structure and location we didn’t like. Starting by the rooms, the bathroom smell really bad (probably because of sewer) and we couldn’t stay in the room with the door of it opened otherwise the smell was terrible. Everytime we shower everything went wet, since the style of the shower was without any door. It is nice in terms of style, but shower also didn’t have light, so we always finished our bath without seeing anything, with a bad smell and the bathroom floor very wet. The hotel also don’t have any sound isolation, we could here everything from other guests in their room, including when they were having shower. We woke up earlier than we want or have putted a sound block in our ears everyday, otherwise we woke up at 7 ahead with people talking. Room also had a window that we couldn’t close part of it because of it style so light went directly to our face. Rooms seems clean, but, for example, we had a dirty glass and after cleaning the room the dirty glass was still there, but I’m a different position so it seems that they have changed, but not. The room we were didn’t have safe or a frigobar, that I would say is complicate because if you want to have something small at tour room you can’t. We had water in the first day, for the others we had to ask for. And for us the worst was the location. We have walked a lot in marrakesch and the Riad was in an area very local. Everytime we should get there we walked thru little streets with only local people and to be honest we didn’t feel safe at all. In the first day a man followed us, even if with the guy from the hotel, insisted for us to give him money, and we haven’t even talk to the guy. The other day we went dinner when we come back we find 3 guys in the door and the door closed (we knew it would be), and it took a long time for them to open the 2 doors for us. We stayed there trying not to look to the guys, but was really uncomfortable since we didn’t feel safe. Is not in a place with a lot of other riads around, not easy also to go to the market at the Médina or to go out of the Médina. Once more, I feel sorry because of the personal that were very gentle, but unfortunately the hotel seems to be much more than it is and was one of the worst I have been during my trips.

I think, Miss, that you've to go to the Mamounia Hotel and not in a riad for your stay in Marrakech...... Can you say how do you've paid per night ??????? Of course, I must admit that, sometimes, the rooms can smell with a special odor..... it was raining all the days before your arrival.... and unfortunately, we're in an old city and it's always like this.... When you've said me that you've a problem with the shower, some hours after, it was ok..... And, dear Miss..... if you don't want see and live with local people, please..... you've to reserve an hotel in the new city, without leave from it.... The medina is a popular area..... and we're in Morocco.... I'm very sorry if you didn't like your stay.....

This is a stylish riad in a good location for exploring the old city. I totally agree with all the other positive reviews – the lovely ambiance, great staff, location, etc. However, what I would really like to discuss is the superlative service. We have travelled quite extensively and have never experienced anything like the level of service we received here. Before we arrived at the riad Michele contacted us to see if we required a transfer from the airport or a meal for our first night. A really nice touch and greatly appreciated. We were planning on driving to the coast during our stay so I contacted her to ask where the most convenient location would be to pick up a car rental. She jumped right in and organized the rental for us. She quoted us a very reasonable price and the car was delivered to the closest access point. Unfortunately, while we were in Marrakech my daughter became ill. Michele made us an appointment for the next morning with her own personal physician. She organized for Mohammed from the riad to accompany us to make sure that we had no problem finding the doctor’s office. An unfortunate event was handled seamlessly and the doctor we saw was excellent. And finally, when it was time to leave, Michele arranged a driver to pick us up at 4:30 am for our very early flight. As a final farewell, Mohammed served us breakfast at 4:00 am! Quite remarkable. Highly recommended.

A wonderful and peaceful haven in the heart of Marrakech. A short 20min walk away from the main square, with plenty to discover along the way. The rooftop is beautifully decorated and clean with a fantastic view and is the ideal spot for lazing in the sun, with an outdoor shower if you need to cool down. It's also great spot have your dinner if you don't want to be in the downstairs dining room (the food is very deliciously prepared by Aisha, Noel and Muhammad) or breakfast (which is included). For dinner you need to let the team know before hand so they can cater for you. (the food is DELICIOUS!) The downstairs pool is a wonderful escape from the heat and there are perfect seating around it to enjoy the delicious mint tea offered. The rooms are beautifully presented in Moroccan decor, clean and a cool escape from the outdoor heat. Michelle and her team (Muhammad, Noel and Aisha) are so informative with fantastic local recommendations and an absolute delight, so friendly and accommodating and available 24/7. Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a wonderful, affordable accommodation in Marrakech with a personal touch.

Michele, the manager, was more Ryan accommodating for us. Our flight arrived super late at 2315 but she coordinated a driver for us for only 15€. Once arriving at the Riad. Nawal, the chef, prepared us an amazing meal we weren't even prepared for. It was so good. They even had another employee, Mohammed, meet us at the cab and walk us to the door which made us feel super safe. The area of town is a little older but don't let that put you off. If you speak French you're in luck, too bad mine isn't that great. Good thing Michele speaks good English and Nawal can get by too. We stayed in the Ivory Suite on the main floor. It's huge! You will hear what's going on in the main area but everyone is courteous during sleeping hours and it helps you wake up so you can go exploring. The breakfast is great speaking of waking up. Best orange juice I've ever had. Thanks a lot for the hospitality. Hope to revisit in the future.
