We stayed at the RIU through Thomson holidays. Before going we were expecting to be pestered on arriving at the hotel but were plesantly surprised when we reached the coach without being stopped. There were three bus loads of people from our flight also staying at the RIU so was quite busy checking in but did not have to wait... More

This was our first ever trip to Morocco and, overall, a very enjoyable experience. The hotel, although new, functioned well, served excellent food, had cheerful friendly staff and first class facilities. On the down side, the senior staff had little knowledge of Marrakech and were unable to answer questions on shopping, restaurants, places to visit etc. Thomsons performed well but their... Nothing much to say which hasn't been said already except the beds were extremely firm and took some getting used to. Me and my sister had a great week despite the weather - it rained every day but one! Having said that there were odd spells of sun which we made the most of when we could. It was not... More

This hotel is everything the other reviews lead you to expect, lots of positives but some negatives you may wish to consider Its about 5 miles from town in an area where there is very little else so dont expect to be able to pop out in the evenings. Reception is very smart and impressively decorated and we found the... More

Hotel opened for guest far too early. Rooms smell damp & musty, decor dark and dank. Lots of people were experiencing sewerage problems, my sisters room had rising water every time she showered. Central Heating in my Room did not work. Had to make several phone calls and trips to reception to get the problem fixed. Lots of construction work... More

I have been to RIU hotels on 5 seperate occasions, those being in the Dominican, Cape Verde and Tunisia therefore I base my views and observations on previous expierences. Travelled with Thomson. New plane but no tv, however you could hire a PSP for £7.50 with films and games on, is this the way all short haul will go. Transfer... More

My first time in Morocco, and at an all inclusive resort, I was unsure what to expect. The hotel is new and this is apparent by the new plants and shrubberies in the extensive grounds. The welcome was warm and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We were directed to our rooms, and found them without... More

We have travelled to many all inclusive resorts all over the world with and without the kids including other Riu resorts so we can offer a good judgement on the Riu Tikida. We were expecting more based on the 5 star reviews posted to date. It is not realistic to mark this Hotel on future potential, it should be marked... More

Nice hotel, staff excellent, food good, rooms good, pool good. Newly opened in November 2009, still putting finishing touches to outside areas. Main drawback for us was that smoking is allowed in the main bar/lobby/reception areas, meaning that by early evening it was difficult for non-smokers to sit comfortably in the main bar. Opening times for the bars and restaurants... More
