La Porte Rouge is well-hidden at the southern tip of the Medina, very close to the royal palace and about a 30-minutes walk to the Place Jemaa el Fna. The place was opened in mid-2008 and is therefore quite new. It offers a "typical" Moroccon atmosphere and is nicely decorated. The staff is friendly but not overly professional. This little riad (only 7 rooms) is really lovely, tucked away at the end of a narrow alley. Our room was one of the smallest, but it still felt spacious, bright and comfortable. I stayed a few days in November as a single person in this lovely riad, which opened recently. The owners and the staff are particularly friendly and you really feel at home after a few minutes. With only 6 rooms, the staff is always at your disposal to provide with food, peppermint tea or aven a lovely massage. Nice roof... more
