I staid two nights with my mother in the riad. We had a wonderful time. There was the possibility to get a transfer from the airport to the riad. As it wasn't possible to get with the taxi in front of the riad, the host, Abdelhadi came to pick us up where the taxi dropped us. Once we arrived we... More

Amazing riad, amazing food and amazing location. Abdelhadi met us and brought us to the house, and during our stay he was always on hand to help with any directions or recommendations. The service was discreet and really made you feel as though you were just staying in your own home, but with MUCH better food. Large roof terrace which... More

Wow. This is my first review for a while, but having spent 2 days at Dar Kawa, we're already looking at when we can return. Ensure you get staff to meet you is Place Moukef, or from the airport as whilst it is easy to find after arrival, it is very well hidden in the rabbit warren of the medina.... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at riad Darkawa for 2 nights, at the end of our vacation in Marocco. We were welcomed by Abdelhadi, who takes care of the house and was always happy to help us with anything. Darkawa is centrally placed (middle of the medina) and astonishing into the details: everything is tasteful, from the furniture to the... More

As you can see from the photos and website, this is a very chic and beautfilly designed hotel. However the owner wasn't there when we stayed, and it felt like staying in someone's second home rather than in a hotel. The guy looking after us was very friendly, but compared to the other riad we stayed in, the service wasn't... More

"The feeling to be at home". Such is the mood Dar Kawa wants to offer its clients. In this sense, we do not call our riad a "hotel" but "home". In this spirit, we ask our staff to be discreet but always listening. The idea is to offer a sense of tranquility and conviviality. Our breakfasts are included in the... More

Our 4-night stay at Dar Kawa was exceptional - a great way to escape the congested streets of Marrakech. There are only 4 rooms and we rarely saw other guests so it truly felt like we had our own private house in the heart of the medina. The staff, led by Abdelhadi, do a wonderful job at making you feel... More

We travelled to Marrakech recently to share a special friend's birthday. Dar Kawa had been recommended to us by an acquaintance and we were thrilled with this advice. The Riad was a tranquil haven after our very busy days, and the location was perfect for our needs. We loved the touches of Valerie Barkowski's linen and the decorative talents she... More

We initially found the name of Dar Kawa via the Wallpaper guide where we booked three nights in May. We were lucky enough to also have the owner (Valerie Barkowski) staying at the same time at the riyad. She has been extremely helpful to us, giving us tips, showing us around where to eat, what to buy and more importantly... More

We have stayed in a few riads in Marrakech and this is probably the most tranquil and homely. The riad is located in a very central and good location for exploring the souks and the main attractions in the medina. Nearby you will also find restaurant Foundouk which is a great option for lunch or dinner in the Medina. The... More

I found the name of Dar Kawa Riad in an article about the owner, the designer Valerie Barkowski. As our decision to go to Marrakech was made last minute and we had no time to compare too many places, I simply contacted the people from the Riad and upon availability we flew there for the weekend. We were told in... More
