OK...not particularly glamorous but have stayed there 8 years on visits. Not for a romantic honeymoon. Great food and clean rooms which need updating but, hey, if you want four star then pay four star !! Good atmosphere in the dining room and banquettes for sitting to eat if you prefer them to more conventional tables and chairs. Don't rely on... More

If you want a cheap, central, clean, owner run hotel across the street from the Minerva Marrakech, this hotel ticks all the boxes. Rooms are bright, clean, and renewed every day. The owner and his wife attend to all your needs, along with efficient and friendly staff. Mustafa the night porter knows all there is to know about Morocco and... More

I visited Hotel Foucauld in July 2010 beore heading out to the Atlas mountains for a 7 Day trek. The Hotel itself was what I'd expect, clean, friendly staff, and has good food on offer. The hotel was a two minute walk from Jamaa el Fna square which had a lot of things going on. I would stop at this... More

Luckily I only stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights. The rooms were small, the lock on the toilet door wasn't working, it was very noisy, and if I left the window open I got the smell of KFC going into my room which wasn't great to sleep in, the beds were fairly average. Judging from slightly different... More

I find it difficult to believe that other travellers speak uncritically about this truly dreadful hotel. I know Marrakesh well enough to be aware of standards of accommodation in relation to prices and levels of service. The location of this hotel (opposite the entrance to Djema el Fnaa) is the only thing which might commend it to visitors who want... More

The room war alright for the price. There was no hot water though. The staff was not friendly, the guy who simply took our one piece of luggage luggage without asking and carried it upstairs for 10 seconds shamelessly demanded money for it. Breakfast was alright, payment was cash upfront. Thankfully had to stay there only for a single night.... More

A group of seventeen girls and women on an aid trip in the mountains used Hotel Foucauld as our 1st and final night in Morocco. It was perfect for what we needed. We only had rooms with 2 each which meant one person was alone but this did not matter too much as it was probably cooler than being with... More

I love the Foucauld because it´s so authentic: you have a real sense of Moroccan life here. The rooms are a bit basic, but always comfy and clean and with hot water (and cheap too!). Try to get one on the roof, where you can wake up to the buzz of the street coming to life below, with fantastic views... More

My wife and I took our son to Africa... Let me preface this by saying that I am a relatively successful businessman who likes to find decent services and experiences for his family, so I am approaching this from perhaps slightly the wrong angle With this hotel, it's hit and miss with which room you're in. One had hairs on... More

Surprisingly I really enjoyed my one night in this hotel. From the start I requested a deluxe room and I was glad I did. My Moroccan travel companion had the room next door which was a standard room and it was tiny with a big step up to the bathroom. My room however, had a queen size bed and a... More
