When we arrived at the hotel we were pleasently surprised. The room was small but tastefully decorated and clean. For £30 a night including breakfast it was good value. OK, for the price (around 36 EUR). You can't get by feet to the Medina, but you are quite nearby the centre of the new city, with restaurants, cafés, shops etc. The rooms are small, but if you spend just the night at the hotel, it doesn’t matter. We arrived into Fez after 8pm, after a long day on the road and without a hotel booking. We noticed the neon sign for the Zahrat al Jabal and went to check it out. This hotel is situated in the new part of Fes, near the lovely boulevard, wonderful cafes and shops and within easy reach of the medina of Fes (5 minutes by car) The hotel is quite new and the rooms are adequately sized. The hotel was wonderful and very lively.I would recommend people who want to stay in average hotels to stay in this hotel.Its room was small but cosy and the weather was suitable for guests to accomodate.Although it is winter,they had large and thick blankets.Pillows were wonderful to help in the good night's sleep.The restaurant was quite small but okay only... more
