Spent 4 nights at Dar Daman in June. The owners are on site friendly and helpful. The Riad has been done beautifully with lovely antique pieces and traditional decor. The rooms are lovely and the breakfasts lavish. The location is great, especially if you like to wander the medina or are there for the Sacred Music Festival. Prices are mid... more

excerpts from a travel diary... Coming to Fes in the middle of the night was kind of frightening ( different language, different people, etc. ), but when we found the wonderful riad Dar Dmanan by chance, we instantly felt safe. Mr. Rachid, the owner of the riad, welcomed us very kind and friendly. During our 4 day stay he became... more

This old family home turned riad has a sophisticated and beautiful appearance, yet is friendly, clean and comfortable to stay in. My winter stay was warm and comfortable, hot water available 24/7 and the public areas were all at a pleasant temperature. From the first welcome tea/coffee and biscuits the staff could not do enough to make my stay pleasant.... more

Dar Dmana is a small family-run guesthouse, located in an attractive, traditional Moroccan house. It enjoys all the usual advantages of such an establishment over the large impersonal hotels you see around the edge of the medina. I have always found the family friendly and helpful and the quality of the service offered has been consitently high. In the past... more

Stayed at the Dar Dmana for one night. We haden`t even brought our luggage to the room when the owner was already trying to get us to arrange a shopping tour to his nephews shop in the medina for the next day. we declined. rooms are outrageously overprized (100 euros for a mediocre double). staff made us feel very unconfortable... more

I strongly agree with the other review 'avoid at all costs'. I am surprised that there are so many good reviews of this riad as our experience was so negative. I would definately not recommend this place and it certainly left a bad taste in our mouths. When we arrived we were invited to have some mint tea which we... more

We stayed in Dar Dmana during Fez music festival. It was really great to stay in that hotel for many good reasons. The room, ensuite, is furnished in Moroccan style really specious and very clean and very quite at the night. The staff were very pleasant, polite and helpful. The food was very good, different menu each day., the breakfast... more

I first was introduced to the Bouzidi family when my son lived in Fes while going to language school. Starting in 2004, I have accompanied a small group of fellow American bicyclists to Morocco and stayed yearly at Riad Dar Dmana, enjoying the friendship and hospitality of this remarkable establishment. You truly are treated as a member of the family... more

This little jewel of a riad is in the medina off a small street just two or three blocks from the souks. The interior 'courtyard' is covered and its walls are beautifully decorated with finely carved plaster and tile. In this gracious setting, the meals are served. When people are in the 'courtyard' talking, especially if they aren't speaking quietly,... more

I would not recommend this riad at all. The owner and his staff(family) are disingenuous, not sincere at all and do not know how to treat guests. We were catching a train early in the morning and requested breakfast at 7:30, which for people catching transport is not especially early. We were told by the owner's nephew the evening before... more
