This Dar was more than a stay, it was a story. The rooms are wonderful, everything from the walls to the decor speaks to you. The breakfast was classy but hearty enough for the busy day ahead, and the common areas a pleasure to just "be" in. The view across the medina from the roof top garden is one of... more

Dar Roumana is a palace, hidden away in the Fez Medina. So tranquil, after the hustle and bustle outside, which you need after a day walking the souks! The roof terrace is seriously stunning, with amazing views over Fez and the mountains, perfect for relaxing and watching the sun set. Our room was beautiful, absolutely huge, very clean, traditional Moroccan... more

There's never been a more fitting word than Magnificent ! Dar Roumana is a little off the busy streets, on the heights of the medina, which grants you not only calm, but also one of the most beautiful view of the medina from the rooftop terrace. From the beautifully renovated patio to the huge and typical rooms, and last but... more

I can't praise Dar Roumana enough. Everything about it was exceptional. It is a beautifully and lovingly restored riad with incredible tile, wood and plaster work in the main courtyard that just blew us away. The welcome was also very warm and friendly, very relaxed and informal which made us feel right at home with Justine and Didier. Their Moroccan... more

Dar Roumana deserves all the good reviews it has received. Didier, Justine and Mohammed are the most amazing and incredibly kind hosts. Dar Roumana is a fantastic, historic building, with wonderful views from the roof terrace. Didier, Justine and Mohammed saved the day for me, when my luggage was lost by Atlas Blue airline and I had nothing for a... more

Justine and Didier made us feel very at home. Nothing was too much trouble and they couldn't have been more friendly or welcoming - we loved every minute! Dar Roumana itself is astonishing, the pictures do not do it justice as it is jaw droppingly beautiful. It is designed so that there is always somewhere quiet to sit if you... more

I'll simply emphasize that I agree with almost everything said before, except that the food has changed! Two new managers took over just a couple months ago. They're both professional, life-long chefs, and it shows. I didn't eat at the restaurant previously, so can't compare, but Justine and Didier are serious, accomplished pros. Even if you can't stay here, you... more

WOW....We found this Dar in the Lonely Planet guidebook. Dar Roumana is one of those magickal places that you want everyone to know how fantastic it is, yet you also want to keep it a secret. Our honeymoon included driving through Morocco and visiting various cities, but Fes was the highlight of our trip. The passion for this city i... more

We do a lot of traveling and this will be remembered as one of our all time favorite hotels. First off, staying in a riad in Fes is much more interesting than staying in a Western style hotel. Staying in a riad in the Medina gives you a real sense of life in this ancient city. The feeling inside the... more

Dar Roumana is one of the firtss guesthouses open in Fès ... It is a very beautiful and comfortable Dar, set next to the bonderies, wich is an exceptional situation: easy access by car, but also view on to the hills ... As far as the view is concerned, let's say you have one of the bests in the medina... more
