A very quaint, rustic courtyard style riad in a bit awkward location. Service was friendly and often very inefficient, never fast. Breakfast was good, very carb filled. I would much rather have spent just $30 or so more for one if the newer hotels like Barcelo in between new and old town. No TVs, pool or other amenities you expect...I... More

The staff of Riad Al Bartal are chilled out people who understand the stresses that affect even the most worldly of us travellers when going to a new place. Omar was able to assist us on several occasions when our plans unravelled and this contributed significantly to our being able to enjoy Fes. The Riad has a palatial feel to... More

A wonderful place to stay with fantastic dinners every night & excellent service. It means "House of Birds" and has its own resident grey parrot who entertains with a variety of whistles & clucks. Dining is in a lovely courtyard full of greenery. On the rooftop there are attractive pots and places to sit but the only access is by... More

Riad Al Bartal is easily accessed by car and thereafter by foot to the Medina and the principle sights of this great city. Omar gave us a really friendly welcome and immediately started to answer our many queries and requests. First off was a late supper recommendation after our welcome tea and home made biscuits. The Riad has a splendid... More

From the very easy access, as the Riad is located right next to a door to the medina (Bab Ziyat) to the extremely helpful staff, this was an excellent Riad experience. Get a real feel of Fez and Morocco from this charming home. Would definitely go back and recommend it to all. Also, the cook Fatima was brilliant. We wish... More

I was stunned when i entered the courtyard of the riad upon my arrival late at late and could not wait to see it better with daylight the day after. Even more impressd when I entered my room. The service is simply fantastic: there are three guys in charges taking rounds and whoever is around is very helpful and super... More

Riad Al Badia was a highlight in our trip to Morocco. Fes medina is a very difficult place to navigate, and this Riad is easy to access from the main road, and is close to the historic area. Service is great, Omar is very friendly and took care of every detail during our stay. Rooms have real Moroccan mosaic walls... More

After a super long journey, this was the perfect riad to start our Moroccan trip. From the outside, it's a simple and modest door, but inside it's like a mini reserve with beautiful ceramic walls, a courtyard and a parrot that will sing any song you can whistle. We were warmly greeted by the staff and given tea and biscuits... More

On my third visit to Fes opted to try this reasonably priced riad over my previous ‘posher’ choice of the beautiful Palais Amani. Very ornate and stunning courtyard in typical Fes style. Food was fantastic. Rooms are very large, quirky and comfortable though in my opinion could benefit from a bit of an update and slight simplification in the fabric... More

Who would imagine a piece of paradise behind an unprepossessing door in an alleyway. The riad is spacious and luxurious with mosaic throughout and a verdant courtyard. Apart from Poulet the riad bird the space is silent and peaceful. We stayed in the bedroom on the ground floor with its decorated high ceiling and gorgeous features. The bathroom is huge... More
