Dar el Ghalia is probably the most amazing Riad we saw in Morocco. It's owners are one of the most ancient aristocratic family in Morocco and the beautiness of this place is represented not only by the magnificence of the architecture but also from the fantastic personal taste of many generations who lived into the Riad choosing and collecting marvellous... We stayed at a pretty rotten riad down the street, walked round and round the medina in extreme temperatures and all we wanted was a beer. The charming staff in this absolutey stunning riad couldn't have been more accommodating. Gave us a chance to unwind and relax. Wish we had stayed there!

Beautiful lobby and architecture. Really breathtaking. But I would not live here again. The towels and toilets were not cleaned and the rooms are not made for a hotel but were ad hoc mustered to be a room. Some of the doors cannot be locked and a bed barely fits in. Also it is situated inside the Medina. For some... More

We'd heard that staying at a riad would be a unique experience, but the Dar el Ghalia still surprised us and completely exceeded our expectations. When our cab dropped us off just inside the Bab Jadid, a porter from the hotel met us. It was good thing because we never could have found the place on our own. The "streets"... More

Perhaps one of the most beautiful Dars/Riads I have visited. The staff are exceptionally pleasant and eager to please. The situation is not the best for those with mobility problems although I managed despite my severe arthritis. The hill seems less daunting on the second or third attempt. The weather was particularly unpleasant during my stay so I did little... More

Thank goodness that this wonderful old house hasn't been tarted up too much for the tourists. Staying here you can still imagine that you are the guest of the owner in a place of slightly faded grandeur. It was a joy just to sit in peace in the comfortable chairs in the courtyard and admire, standing by the grand piano,... More

This is a gem of a hotel inside of the Medina of Fes. It confounds me why it isn't rated higher - It is a beautiful Dar with a very large center atrium that impresses as you enter the doors of El Ghalia. The rooms are equally beautiful especially the suites and the larger rooms. Breakfasts are very well prepared.... More

Not a riad but a dar - the clue is in the hotel name, but check the definition! Where does one start with the D el G? Possibly with how to find it. The taxi will drop you off at the taxi-stand near to Place R'cif but without some assistance it is difficult to identify the correct entrance into the... More

One of the most satisfying stay in this riad, nicely decor, great rooms, nice friend staff, antique furniture all around, the place is well kept and maintained. The restaurant there were excellent, all food were prepared with tender care, professionally served. Price are fair and portion is big. I tried few dishes from the menu, and they are all great,... My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights over the New Year and it was most definitely one of the highlights of our 2 week trip. The Ryad is stunning and everywhere you look there's a picture, mosaic, piece of antique furniture or something that makes you stop and stare. The staff are wonderful and cant do enough for... More
