The Palais Jamai is a legend that's losing its charm. Yes, you start your stay by walking into a beautiful tile-decorated lobby and sit down to mint tea, but our premier room showed signs of disrepair. One of the armchairs was missing finials, the other had a rickety leg, the tub handle came off in my hand, a couple of... More

If you decide to stay at hotel Jamai which is close to the Medina. Do not try to walk to the Medina from the back side of it as the hotel staff recommended to do. I starting walking and a nice gentleman approached me and asked me to take a taxi to the old Medina instead of taking that 15... More

This hotel is the grande dame of Fes hotels and an icon in hotel history: A beautiful old-world grand hotel with a terrific garden and pool. Located above the old medina with breathtaking views of the city. The building and interior exuded history, however a little worn and faded. Room was good size and had a balcony towards the garden... I don't know why the reviews have been so negative, I loved my stay. The minute we enter, the hotel is full of atmosphere and I feel I am back into time and it is also full of warmth. The lobby is full of carpets, nice seating arrangements and a nice view of the swimming pool. Rooms were okay but... More

The location is excellent, right on the edge of the old city of Fes, an easy walk into the medina and monuments and such. Very adequate free gated parking. Rooms were very nice and service was impeccable, although the price was high, around $190/night. Their classic Moroccan restaurant was recently closed, although the menu from there is available in the... More

Worst (and longest) check in ever. The misery who passed as a receptionist managed to shake all New Year's Eve joy out of us. After initially implying that we didn't have a booking, we were then commanded to sit in reception and drink mint tea whilst some internal processes were gone through. The rooms (we are travelling with our two... More

This once apparently grand hotel has seen better days. The first two rooms they tried to put us in were very shabby, worn stained carpets, and very small since we thought we had paid for a premium king room. After some haggling we were given this two room suite that had two bathrooms and great city views. The staff was... More

As a travel pro i base my reviews on the quails that a hotel advertises and this hotel falls way short. The worst Sofitel I have stayed in by far. In general Softel are top hotels but they do not appear to have strict brand standards across there chain and this makes it hard to book as you just do... More

Grate, historical and old place. Comfort of hotel is pretty cool. Breakfast is weak. Little far from center but has great view through terrace. Worth to stay. Staff was also good. Heater made me little disappointed cos I stayed in April. Was little cold outside

This is not a luxury hotel. My mother visited this hotel 25 years ago with her then boyfriend.. And from the pictures she showed me.. Not much has changed. The location is amazing. Full view of the medina and the building structurally is beautiful. But the insides need to be redone. The breakfast is shabby and yea the rooms are... More
