Riad Layla enthrals you with a decor and ambiance reminiscent of the Arabian Nights. Riad Layla enchants you! The traditional building is constructed in Moorish style and was renovated in 3 years with much effort and love for the smallest details, just so that you could rent a riad that epitomises elegance. The building offers the comfort and service of a luxury hotel combined with the dreamy ambiance of a riad. The design combines traditional Moroccan architecture and craftsmanship with modern comfort. At the centre of the riad is a patio with a fountain and its pool. Cedar wood, mosaic (zellig) and stucco are witnesses of the elegance of this former residence. The salon, the patio and the beautiful roof terraces with a breathtaking view of the entire Fez medina offer a place to read, sun-bathe and relax. Breakfast and dinner are served on the roof terrace during summer. Come and enjoy the atmosphere of Riad Layla for your Morocco holidays

My third visit to Fes and where else would I stay but Riad Layla? The location just inside the medina is perfect and the welcome was every bit as warm as on my two previous visits and the team could not have been more helpful - it might not be the fanciest choice in town but it is clean, friendly and perfectly located and I will stay here again next time I come to Fes. I travelled with a friend this time and the royal suite worked very well - although the double bed on the mezzanine is definitely more comfortable than the single in the sitting room! Amazingly generous and filling breakfasts give you the energy you need to spend a day in the medina - and they did a great job of providing tasty gluten-free options for my friend which was much appreciated. Travelling with a friend rather than my husband meant we could do different activities from previous visits. We spent a wonderful morning shopping with Latifa and then cooking a three-course meal in the Riad kitchen and it was lovely to do this just the two of us rather than as part of a larger group at one of the "cooking schools". We also braved the hamman for my first ever time - full scrub with black soap, clay mask and then a wonderful massage took a couple of hours and left us ultra-relaxed and with baby-soft skin - definitely to be recommended. We even did yoga on the roof terrasse with amazing views over the medina - still surprised at how quiet it is with no traffic noise and reinforced my view that Fes is a much better option than Marrakech.

We stayed in five places during our Morocco trip and this Riad was my favorite. Very clean, beautiful decor, and good location. The rooms were also quite spacious. Great view of the city when you visit the terrace, where breakfast is served on a daily basis. Friendly staff.

Stayed for 2 nights in the suite on the ground floor. Very spacious with doors opening out into the courtyard. Two good sized single beds and a seating area as well as a large bathroom area. Very clean just a little dark in the room, could have done with option of brighter lights and as it was on the ground floor near the entrance there was a bit of noise at certain times. The roof terrace area where you can have breakfast is great, lots of space to sit as well as a few sun loungers with spectacular 360 views over the whole old town area of Fes. Just bear in mind there are a lot of stairs to the top! Breakfast was huge with various types of bread and pancakes, jams and scrambled eggs. Staff very happy to help and we were able to leave our bags once checked out. Location is amazing as right on edge of old town area near the top of the two main laneways which run downhill through the souk area to the tanneries. Overall good value in a perfect location close to all the hussle and bustle but far enough away for peace and quiet.

I have just returned from an amazing trip to Morocco. The first couple of days I stayed in Riad Layla in the Royal Suite ( I saw quite a few of the other rooms in passing and they were all nice), I did a lot of research into hotels and this was one of the best I found for my price range and Im so glad I chose Riad Layla as a place to stay. Before I even arrived at the hotel I spoke to Mohamed who gave me advise on getting a taxi and then spoke to the driver to direct him in as its a bit of a maze in Fez (Negotiated 150 MAD). on arrival Mohamed was great with a warm welcome and he took me to my room and showed me how everything worked. The room was gorgeous and the whole place, my room and the public areas, were impeccably clean the whole time. Once you've got your bearings the Riad is easy to find and there are lots of places close by shops, banks, taxi stand, restaurants, the Medina and Blue Gate. There is a terrace that serves meals, I did not eat there but I went up in the morning and in the evening for the beautiful views, the sunset was amazing and it had panoramic amazing views of the city. I want to say the best part about staying at this Riad was Mohamed. When you arrived back after a day out he always made you feel welcome had some conversation, he knew everything about the area and was so helpful. Being a Training Manager for a cruise line I saw outstanding hospitality from him, I observed him withe the other guests and he was truly on a different level he is amazing. He used to run up and down the stairs a million times a day. If someone called his name you would here tak tak tak Mohamed running to them and the way he spoke so kind, genuine and patient nothing was ever to much for him and he always seemed happy to help. So to sum it up if you are thinking of booking this place go ahead no issues here at all with the accommodation or staff. Thank you Riad Layla for a great stress free stay!

Riad Layla has beautiful rooms with reversible ACs so even during December we were warm in here. Latifa is a great hostess who made sure we knew where to go and that we stayed safe. She also booked us a tour guide for the medina, our transport to Tangier and organised a birthday cake. Breakfasts were nice and most of the time served on the roof, which was just about warm enough in the December sun. We booked guide Elhadi (through the Riad) he is an excellent source of information and took us through the parts of the medina we hadn’t been yet. He showed us the communal hammams and the various district’s ovens. He also took us to some of the tanneries. Booking a guide who grew up in the medina is a great way to see and learn about those hidden parts you miss as you stroll around by yourself

The Riad is historic, rustic and absolutely beautiful. Room are spacious, clean and beautiful. I was blown away by their hospitality. Latifa is such a sweet and friendly lady, she went above and beyond to help me find my lost bag and did everything possible to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Location is great - it’s a short walk to the Medina. The food and tea were scrumptious! Highly recommend this gem of a place - would love to come back!
