Le Jardin des Biehn is a large Andalusian garden in the middle of the Medina of Fez, scented by Isfahan roses, jasmin, orange blossom and bergamot. All around stands the summer palace of a Pasha : fourteen rooms and suites, a restaurant, a spa and an art gallery. It is a place of harmony and charm, of luxury and fantasy, of shadows and light passing through the palms, lulled by birdsong and the murmur of fountains.

We stayed here with our daughter (age 15) for four nights, and loved every minute. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcome and the staff could not do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Houcine is a superb and professional manager, and the owner, Paul Biehn, utterly charming and a great host. Our room was Les Bédouines, which was perfect for the three of us. Plenty of space, comfortable beds, a charming en-suite shower room, and double aspect views across the narrow streets and rooftops of the Medina. We dined in the restaurant one evening, under the olive tree, and it was one of the best meals of our whole stay in Fez. The Riad is beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style with a charming courtyard garden, plunge pool, water feature, lush vegetation, lanterns suspended from the trees and pretty painted furniture with colourful cushions. We requested the laundry service, and clothes returned spotless and beautifully ironed. Houcine arranged an excellent driver for us to do a full day trip out to Meknes and Volubilis - definitely not to be missed - and our transfers to and from Fez airport were seamless. We cannot recommend Les Jardins des Biehn highly enough, and hope to return very soon!

Hotel's Favorite
I loved my stay here. All of the rooms and the cafe/restaurant is laid out around a big, lush garden unlike anything I saw elsewhere in Fes. The garden is truly a unique gem. The decor of the rooms and rest of the hotel is a mix of traditional Moroccan and bohemian and even a bit retro. It was especially perfect for traveling as a big group of friends because there were many rooms, as well as many common spaces to gather. The staff was amazingly helpful, especially Asdeen and Simu who were always available for providing a coffee, beverage, or snack.

We loved our 4 nights at Jardin des Biehn The rooms are sumptuous and beautifully decorated each with a story to tell . Our bed and linen were top class and very comfortable and the AC worked well despite the high temperatures outside The gardens are beautiful dotted around with tortoises of varying sizes But what elevated our stay to one of our favourite ever trips was the service from all the staff who were to a man and woman charming kind and helpful We had the best hamman and massage of our lives and loved our breakfasts surrounded by exotic plants Having travelled to Morocco before but not to Fez we can now declare it our favourite city We will surely return for more peace and tranquility

It was a pleasure to stay in this quiet and cozy riad. It is a gem of lush gardens and pools, located just inside the gate of the medina in a great location for shopping and exploring. The room was elegant and plush and every comfort was seen to. We had our laundry done and I had a hamman which was spectacular. The restaurant food is excellent and they even made up a tray and took it up to our room for my husband as he was not feeling well. We were treated like royalty. The hotel even arranged a guide to take me through the medina and all my luggage and transportation to and from the gate and the train station was all handled by the friendly front desk. Overall, an outstanding experience. I recommend this place highly. Five big stars!

What a delightful Riad to stay at, on the edge of the Medina. Extremely comfortable, slightly quirky decor. Wonderful garden, excellent cuisine. Service levels par excellence: thank you especially to Paul and Houcine, who were charming, helpful and attentive, as were all the staff. A great place for us to enjoy our Silver Wedding, thank you.

Located near the Medina, this Riad was occupied by high ranking government officials 100 years ago, and is now owned and operated by a French family that fell in love with the property and live onsite. The rooms we saw were either large or massive. Upon check in there was a problem with plumbing in our reserved room, and management quickly moved us to a very large suite for the remainder of our stay. The owners have some background with antiques and you will find each room and other parts of the Riad decorated with items from their travels around the world. Within the walls of the Riad is a large garden providing a tranquil location to relax and unwind. We were there for 3 days and had most of our meals there as well. The owners, managers and staff were attentive and caring.

Came with a group of friends and was greeted by a wonderful manager. He showed us to our rooms which was very unique a lot of antiques. The owner was a French man who collected and restored furniture had to switch our room because there was tons of ants all over. Manager was kind and gave us another room. Very wiggy. A huge shower - floor covered with ants. Separate room with a sink covered with ants and toilet was in the entrance needed to walk up steps and the toilet was on top. Manager offered to put us in the palace suite. Was very beautiful high ceilings a lot of things going on . Didn’t take it coz it had a musty odor so we stayed with the ants and checked out a day early with no money back. Owner of the hotel was the son of the original French man ,he was a spoiled arrogant Frenchman. I told the waiter that my cappuccino was cold and if he could make it hot. The owner came to my table and yelled at me. Customer is always right all he had to do was heat it up. I was also walking through the grounds and he told me that it was private I responded that I didn’t know and he was so rude and accused me of not being able to read so I replied that I don’t read French. I’ve traveled all over the world and was never treated so badly. I don’t want to take anyones business away but this place needs to clean up the rooms (my friends also had bugs) and the owner must change his attitude. very interesting and unique hotel (Riad). There is no pool- it’s a foot pool . Could b a very charming place but must get clean and renovated

From our smooth check-in with Hussein to our dinner at Fez Cafe where Paul helped us select from the fabulous menu through to Jawad helping us with our bags and to find our dinner destinations - everyone offered incredible warmth and service at this beautiful riad. It was my birthday during our stay and Hussein surprised me with flowers before dinner and everyone waited for us at the door to offer warm birthday wishes afterwards. As I said in the guest book - they made us feel like royalty. We stayed in the Calife room. Recommend!

I stayed in La Pancha suite with my husband and two sons (14 and 12), and can't recommend it more. The decor was beautiful and authentic, the staff was very friendly, and we loved the gardens. My kids enjoyed the cats walking around. :) We also enjoyed spending evenings on the terrace. We had an early departure time and the staff sent us off with a bagged breakfast. Great location in the Medina, but the gardens made us feel like we were somewhere else! The owner was very personable as well. Highly recommend.

Our stay in Riad Jardin des Biehn was excellent. We spent two nights in the Princess de Desert room located on the top floor. Our room was small but lovely with an extremely large patio overseeing the medina. Room was very clean and the water pressure for the shower was great! Gardens are stunning and we were within walking distance from everything you could need. We are happy with our stay and would recommend for sure!!
