Our brief stay in fez was made more magical by our stay at le Jardin des Biehn. The location, design, staff and overall atmosphere are perfect. While there are many beautiful places to stay in the Medina, none have the personality, character and soul of Les Jardin! Paul and each member of the staff are accomplished at making each guest... I spent 5 nights (Jan 5 to Jan 9) in this place, as a single traveller on work. The experience was just so beautiful. ________ But it began so horribly – I arrived with a head cold after nearly 25hours of leaving my home in India, and fell sick!! For the next 3 days – a mild flu, with fever and... More

Lovely, interesting garden with oranges, grapefruit, lemons and bananas on the trees and the gentle sound of running water. A room beautifully decorated in local style with very comfortable beds. The Fez cafe in the garden gave us delicious meals. All the personnel were extremely friendly and attentive. Outside, in no time, we found ourselves caught up in the bustle... More

My husband and I I spent a long awaited holiday in Morocco this November and chose to stay at Le Jardin Des Biehn. This riad is truly a magical place -an oasis of tranquility in the ancient city of Fez. The owners have created comfortable , beautiful decorated rooms. The garden with the intoxicating perfume of Jasmine, the stunningly beautiful... More

Stayed in the Oriental Suite for 3 nights recently. Previous reviews have covered everything I would say about this beautiful place in Fes, particularly the grounds. There is something very special about staying inside the Medina which can't be beaten. This is no exception. A beautiful, calming haven removed from the hustle and bustle of the frantic streets and alleyways... More

This review is really overdue because it’s hard to describe this fabulous place. Jardin des Biehn is flat-out the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever seen. It’s a reason by itself to go to Morocco. This is a historic Moroccan riad which began as a Caliph’s summer palace. It’s a set of buildings and rooms walling in a large inner garden.... More

I stayed for 10 days and it was too short. The Riyad is beautiful and is built round an exquisite garden. The rooms are individual and comfortable. It was a true oasis from the fascinating hussle of Fes. The staff are kind and welcoming and made me feel they were there just for me - although I suspect they made... More

Good things: nice staff (but a bit ineffectual without their manager), clean, good location, quiet, very nice garden. Bad things: reception not staffed during normal working hours during festival time (when tourists are around); no safe in bedroom (so you have to leave your valuables at reception - which may not be open...). It is just not good enough to... More

This Riad is an oasis in the medina quite literally from its exquisite garden setting. All nine rooms are unique and different so you need to spend some time on their website reviewing the room choices when booking. We opted for a suite called la Favourite, which being elevated afforded a breeze and views to the garden below; its terrace... More

A wonderful find; we used this place as an escape from the Riad Dar Dmana in which we had thte misfortune of having to stay. The rooftop terrace, gardens & restaurant here were bliss- the perfect escape from the noise & bustle of Fez. The gardens are lush & leafy, the bar is licensed to serve alcohol, the staff are... Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Le Jardin des Biehn is a large Andalusian garden in the middle of the Medina of Fez, scented by Isfahan roses, jasmin, orange blossom and bergamot. All around stands the summer palace of a Pasha : nine rooms and suites, a restaurant, a spa and an art gallery. It is a place of harmony and charm, of luxury and fantasy, of shadows and light passing through the palms, lulled by birdsong and the murmur of fountains. ... more   less
