This ryad in Fes is beautiful. I had a good reception on arrival. Staff friendly, although little bit pushy regarding services offered by the hotel. Khalid, the owner is a great guy, taking time to have a conversation with guests. The dinner I had at the ryad was authentic, and of high quality. To stay inj such a beautiful Ryad... More

This is the place to be in Fez in winter as in summer. The beautiful palace of 1001 nights has everything to make you happy and feel comfortable. Lovely rooms, clean sweet looking bathrooms, superb breakfast, good silent location, roof terrace with splendid views, a very nice modern moroccan owner who cares about you, central heating in winter, safe parking... Very friendly, nice suite, nice ambience. Downsides: overly pushy in trying to persuade us to dine in the riad. We were also surprised to be handed an envelope by the manager on our departure indicating that a contribution towards the staff was expected. Water was cold until we asked to have it turned on. Room was cold and heating was... More

The Ryad Alya is exquisite in every way. The owner left much of the beautiful hand done moroccan art of the historical Moroccan building. At the same time he did a brilliant job of updating it with towel warmers and all the comforts of a luxurious palace, (including heat which is not always the case in other ryads). The rooms... More

At Riad Alya we spent the best time in Morocco. We stayed in riads before, but had never enjoyed it so much. The place is a splendid mini-palace which is peaceful and very central, just a few minutes by walk from the Fes Medina. It was renovated a couple of years ago by the owner/manager who used local artisans and... More

we stayed here as a family in a suite where the two bedrooms opened into a common salon which opened into the ryad courtyard. (fes suite). the look and feeling of this ryad is comfortable, high style moroccan-hip, and the staff feel more like an adopted family than staff. they are friendly, watchful and welcoming. breakfast (included) and dinner (additional)... I got to Ryad Alya by chance as I learnt about it by a travel mate I met on my way to Fès. The riad is for sure one of the best I visited during my journey in Morocco and I couldn't get a better suggestion. I do recommend spending some time here, in the Medina of Fès though easily... More

We chose Alya as a splurge hotel for 2 nights during our 3 week stay in Morocco, since very nice, but more basic hotels can be found for a fraction of the price of Alya. This is the perfect hotel to experience traditional Moroccan luxury. The majority of high end riads and hotels in Fes are more modern and westernized... More

This is a superb guest house in Fes. This is not a conventional hotel as such. It is a riad, a traditional courtyard house (or mini-palace in this case) that has been adapted for guests. The interior is breathtakingly beautiful, with stunning traditional intricate tile work and plaster carvings. It's worth staying here just to admire the courtyard! The rooms... More

Well I stumbled across this fantastic hotel purely by a chance meeting with 2 like minded holiday makers whilst visiting Essaouira. They suggested that if I was visiting Fes then the Ryad Ayla is THE place to stay. I took the train from Marrakech to Fes which took 7 hours aDh (first Class). On my arrival at Fes Railway station...
