After walking in the labyrinth of Fes, you enter the luminous patio of Dar Gnaoua. Amhed, the receptionist, was elegant, smiling and very helpful welcomed us, pointed out tips all along the roads to better discover the medina and feel safe and comfortable. Very well restored riad: ceramics, sculpted beam posts, a terrace on the roof to contemplate the mystic... More

I slept in b&b's all over the world; from Tokyo to Kingston and back, but Dar Gnoua is by far the best, most welcoming and beautiful place I've ever slept. The caretaker, mr. Ahmed, is such a lovely man. His french is great, his english sufficient and not only does he serve the best breakfast ever, he will help finding... More

Stayed in various riads in Morocco during a 10-day holiday and Dar Gnaoua tops the list vis-a-vis location, quality and character of the riad and the hospitality of the team without least mentioning Rashid. The room I and my friend booked opens up to the terrace and the interior takes you back in time. The bed was very comfortable and... More

During my recent three week visit to Fes, i slept in eleven different riads and dars. Dar el Gnaoua was one of the most beautifully restored of the houses and with great service as well. The only downside to Dar Gnaoua may be its location as it is right in the middle of the oldest part of Fes medina, but... More

Wish we could have stayed longer in this riad, our top floor room was one of the best that we had in our 2 weeks in Morocco. The riad's best feature however were its hosts, who were most helpful and friendly and made our stay truly memorable.

We stayed a couple of night and had dinner on the terrace, wonderful atmosphere. But most of all we appreciated the kindness of Ahmed, he really took care of us and made our staying very special. Thank you! Giorgio and Laura from Rome

Being in Dar Gnaoua was like being in a palace. It is tucked away deep inside the old medina; the closest exit is Bab R'cif. R'cif itself is bustling and considerably more active than other sections of the medina. The trajectory from the Bab to the Dar takes you through a vibrant underground world before settling in to the quiet... More

We couldn't have found a better place to stay, right in the medina in Fez! Ahmed made sure to show us everything we needed to know and was a great resource for navigating! The building is gorgeous and our room, overlooking the terrace, was spotless. The only area for improvement was that we got a similar assortment of breads and... More

We loved our stay here, the house is gorgeous and very well kept, the terrace is absolutely the best we´ve been to in Morocco and I´ve traveled in this country four times already. Don´t be scared of the way to the Riad, Fes medina is full of alleys that might look dangerous but its really safe and Ahmed is an... More

I had two nights here at the end of June 2013, travelling by myself. It had been recommended to me by the owner of another riad who hadn't been able to accommodate me. I'm quite sure I could repeat what most other reviewers have said, so let me just say that this place is located perfectly in the medina and... More
