I felt so lucky to find this Riad in Fez. Jean Claude is a marvelous host. I felt like part of the family while staying at the Riad, like I could always call Jean Claude on his cell phone and ask for advice, because he naturally thinks of how to make your Morocco experience exceptional. For example, when we mentioned... more

What a surprise! For a first timer in Fes, walking through the maze of the Medina, even the short distance to the Riad Laayoun is rather intimidating, but once arrived the surprise of what lay in store was really fantastic. The owner of this Riad has such a lovely property but clearly understands that good staff and little touches make... more

We thought that after our riads we had in Marrakesh we stayed in some great places...BUT that was before we stayed 2 nights in Riad Laayoun. THIS is the real deal if you talk about a riad in terms of original looks combined with hospitality and uniqueness. We payed 60€ for a double and compared to what we payed for... more

We stayed in Riad Laayoun in Fes October 2009 for a long weekend with my parents. It is a wonderfully restored riad within the medina and a peaceful retreat from the hustle and buslte (and smells!) of the medina. My husband and I stayed in Room Vanille on the top floor. This room was quite small but perfectly adequate and... more

Excelent choice. In the very heart of Medina. Amazing instalations. Very kind service. Extraordinary amability. You enter as a customer and you leave as a friend. Thanks to Jean-Claude and all his staff. They just can't be more kind with us. more

The riad itself was a staggeringly classically beautiful 400 year old building. The architecture indicative of an age-old past, with beautiful mosaics, iron work and wooden beams all around. Time spend here was a like a cool drink of water, giving a relaxing reprieve away from the hustle and bustle outside the old medina walls. The view from the rooftop... more

This riad is located outside the tourist centre (which is - for us - already a great asset) and close to Place R'cif (this square is accessible by cars so it's easy when you need transportation to go outside the medina). There is a very interesting authentic food market nearby, mainly frequented by locals and no tourists. On the other... more

This riad is one of the most beautiful I have seen. You can loose hours just staring at it. Jean Claude was a fantastic host. He has an amazng energy about him and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. It was Ramadan whilst we there and Jean Claude made sure were could find resturants to... more

I couldn't have made a better choice for my stay in the Bab R'Cif area. The riad has a stunning interior that was a true pleasure to return to after a long day in the busy Medina or out adventuring in the Moroccan sun. Jean Claude and Lou are wonderfully warm people who made me feel very much at home.... more
