I live in Morocco and therefore am pretty used to hotels being of a slightly lower standard than I'd expect elsewhere in the world but this place marked a new low in my experiences. I paid 750dh which is about £60 for a double room right in the heart of Casablanca. The first thing I noticed was the overpowering smell... More

Morrocan kitch which is fun and charming. Frontdesk people not helpful. In particular the elderly receptionist is completely malplaced and should be somewhere else where servicemindedness is not an issue. Bartender doubled his beer price. Night club dark, smoky and noisy. More

Among my fond memories of Casablanca is my stay at Hotel Transatlantique. It is not a sanitized Las Vegas version of the past; it is a slightly lived-in gift from the past. The lobby is beautiful and photogenic. My room was clean, comfortable and cozy. Ask for an inner room facing the courtyard if possible. Cute house buntings will sing... More

This is possibly the worst hotel, or worst value hotel I have ever stayed in. The website implied it had a faded art deco charm about it and I thought it sounded quirky and quaint. This added to my disappointment. It was truly awful. There were no screens on the windows so we were tortured by mosquitos all night. It... More

I stayed three nights at the Hotel Transatlantique, located in the French-style new town, for an extremely good price - £31 per night, including breakfast, booked in advance via the Gala Hotel webiste. (They take full payment at the time you book, but it gets you a very good deal and saves any hassle when you check out). The unique... More

The manager quoted me a fair rate on the phone and then nearly doubled it upon our arrival. He then spoke to me like I was a child when I corrected him. After a tense conversation, he insisted on a cash payment upon our checking in and then directed passive-aggressive threats toward me and my spouse. Had it not been... More

for a one night stay in casablanca this was great for us. the hotel is a fine piece of art deco which is crying out for some TLC. lots of restaurants within 5-10mins walk. walkable to the medina. hassan II mosque and the train station (casa voyageurs) is a short taxi ride. Room (on 3rd floor) had character, a bit... More

This hotel is perfect for the traveler who doesn't want to leave their room to go to a night club! Beginning at 11:00 p.m. and lasting until nearly 4 in the morning hotel guests are treated to the heart pounding rhythms and micro-tonal warbling of the loudest music Morocco has to offer! Wow what an experience! If like me you... More

Hotel Transatlantique is a very sad reflection of it's former magnificent glory. It was built in 1922, and I imagine it was fantastic then. You can still see the traces of the original art deco design in the lobby and the restaurant area, and the outside seating has beautiful traditional ceiling carvings. Sadly, that's all there is to it. I... More
