I was put off by reading all the bad reviews of this hotel before I left home, but after staying at Hotel Transatlantique, I found it to be at least a three star hotel. Rooms were fine, staff was very polite and accommodating, had free internet, and it was quiet except I agree with the reviewers who said to stay... more

After reading assorted reviews I would not have chosen to stay at this hotel, but the tour I was joining picked it. It was, alas, as bad as I had feared. The public rooms are lovely, you should stop by and take a look, but DON’T plan to spend the night. If you do have to stay, try to insist... more

We booked a room by a website and it was ok, except we got it at the second floor directly over a night club. If I hadn't had ear plugs I couldn't have got asleep. My parents booked their room by contacting the hotel reservation service directly. By phone they were told that that they were to pay 45 Euro... more

We stayed only one night, as planned. The foyer and ground floor have been beautifully restored and decorated. Arriving at midnight after flight problems, we found the staff adequately responsive. The great disappontment was the room, far below the standard of a supposedly 4-star hotel and thoroughly unwelcoming and depressing. There was a very strong smell of damp. The room... more

This was the end of a great Valentines surprise for my wife. Breakfast at the Gatwick Hilton. Lunch in Madrid and dinner in Casablanca. We stayed for 2 nights and did it all. Pictures always tell a better story. The mini bar in the room wasn't switched on/plugged in. We all know how fridges smell when not plugged in. The... more

We arrived without a booking in Jan 2008 (low season) as the hotel had had some good recommendations and we were looking for comfort and calm. Our guide book (2007) gave us a price range of €50 to €75. When asked about a double room, we were informed that the price was €88 plus breakfast. We mentioned the information we... more

The hotel has an old-fashioned flair to it and the rooms are big. Downsides: many taxis don't know it and don't know the name of the street; there was no heating in the room and the bathroom had a permanently open window; it was full of mosquitoes and I got so many bites on my face that it looked like... more

Was recently on a two week trip to Morocco and the Hotel Transatlantique was probably the worst hotel we encountered. While the lobby does have some charm with various antiques and old knick-knacks displayed along with interesting vintage travel posters, the rooms share none of this character. Our room was dreary, uncomfortable and not very clean. Also be VERY weary... more
