It's such a pity that this wonderfully located hotel is so badly run and managed. Out of your 7-day long cycling trip in Morocco the stay at Ksar Massa was by far the most expensive - we knew about it in advance but wanted to treat ourselves just once. Instead we got an angry, impatient, and unfriendly receptionist and other... more

We recently spent 7 nights at Ksar Massa at end of Jan/early Feb and had a wonderfully relaxing break. It was all that we had hoped for and expected. We booked directly with the hotel by e-mail without any problems, although I suspect that a reasonably command of French is a distinct advantage. The taxi was waiting at Agadir Airport... more

The setting at and around Ksar Massar is beautiful if you appreciate fine beaches , sand dunes, cliff tops and a lovely nature reserve. When we were there in January, the beaches were empty (albeit, in places, strewn with uncleared rubbish brought in by the tide). The nearby towns are desperately poor and there are no cafes in which you would... more

If you are a very enthusiastic bird watcher and willing to pay exorbitant prices for poor accommodation and average food (no choice, eat it or leave it) the Ksar Massa will suit you fine. If you want a relaxing bathing holiday after a round trip in Morocco go to Agadir or Essouira. Your won't have a deserted beach, peace and... more

Some 5 years ago we visited Ksar Massa and were delighted with what we found (we were there for lunch only) - bright and vibrant, excellent location and food. Last week we found a tired, run down and frankly sad place. What is so extraordinary is that there are new parts being built yet the central "core" has been totally... more

This would have been an adequate place--at half the price. The room was nice enough, but the pool area was shabby [peeling paint]. Half of the chaise lounges were broken, and the pads were as thin as a towel. The food was good but not especially spectacular, and the dining areas were 'rustic' [i.e. uncomfortable}. Half the staff were unhelpful.... more

Yes, it is pricey. But the location is special and the room is really a suite - a lovely big lounging area with a mini hifi system as well as a large bedroom and large bathroom. On my visit the reception staff were friendly and easy to locate, and the waitress serving the huge and very good breakfast was a... more

we stayed in Ksar Massa for two nights and had a very good time there: - the food was really excellent, among the best we had during our trip to Morocco - the rooms and the whole hotel were designed in a very tasteful way, not extremely luxurious but with a lot of traditional/local influences - we staff was very... more

We stayed for 2 nights in November and were very sorry to leave the Ksar Massa- yes it is a bit expensive but we felt it was worth it. We found the staff very friendly and helpful- we prefer to go looking for hotel staff rather than to have them around the whole time. There is no choice for dinner... more

Look at the web site or the Sawday entry and you will be enticed. Our experience there was different: Prices higher than we expected 2300 Dhms for BB&D is approx £140. Dinner on our first night was excellent, on our second night was poor (no choices). Thumbs down: We met an english man and an american who seperately treked out... more
