Getting an international quality hotel at a decent price sometimes can be a challenge in Algiers. The Hydra is a well know hotel located in one of the upper eschelon neighborhoods of Algiers. Hydra is not downtown. And if your business is downtown (as defined as the Old Post Office area), it is some distance away. The hotel is however... More

I was in Algiers for a trade show and no hotel around the exhibition centre, so closest one was Hydra. I should say that was OK. Hotel is an old one and needs renovation seriously. Breakfast included but do not expect too much, just OK. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The best thing, location is very good and safe.... More

Was only for one night in the hotel but will be more after my first stay. For a reasonable price the room is functional with a small terrasse, well functioning tv channels and shower. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only the Internet was sometimes very down and sometimes a bit up.

Compared to other hotel in this city, i would say this is the best already. Located right in the downtown, this hotel is surrounded by embassies of different country. This has indirectly guaranteed a certain amount of safety and assurance when you are on the street. Police station is nearby, and a lot of good food is nearby this Hotel... More

Compared with the other hotels in Alger, it's good. Pros - Location is very good. As foreigner, Algeria is not good to travel, but Sidi Yahia is good. - Desk can speak english. Cons - Foods in restauraunt is horrible. It's better to go out. Other notes - In most hotels in alger, servers take my stuff like choco bar... More

The sheets in this hotel must be older than 30 years old. The furniture must be at least 60, and I had some stuff stolen from my room too. Under any circumstances do not go here!! Breakfast is horrible, the bread is 3 days old sometimes, and coffee is always burnt. The fridge in the room is empty, as in... More

Considering the overall hotel offer in Algiers this hotel gets a pass-mark but nothing more than that. The hotel definitely needs a renovation. The rooms are big but poor. There is a free Wi-Fi in the rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they were able to communicate in English. Everything is very basic. If you don’t set high... More
