I had to stay in El Djazair hotel part of my business trip to Algeria, The hotel location is good in the center and near to everything. The hotel decoration is amazing it is old and you can feel how great this hotel was. The hotel rooms are old but sound proof which was perfect. The garden is amazing and... More

Ate in the French-style restaurant here. Food flavourless and very overpriced. Lovely environment and I'm sure the gardens are worth a visit in the daytime. But don't bother eating here. You'll only be disapponted.

I have attended a business gathering, cocktail and dinner at hotel. The building and garden are exceptional. I believe they are from 19th century, interior of building very lovely, old style decoration with ceramic tiles on all the walls. Terrific ambiance, need to see at least once. I have the impression that the facility may be a little short in... More

I stayed for the first time in this hotel because I had liked the restaurant and service in my previous visit to Alger. I however did not enjoy my stay; the rooms are very basicly equipped although it is a 5-star one; they need maintenance from wardrobes with loose nails to broken bathroom tiles; etc. The breakfast was adequate but... You can tell this used to be a great hotel what with all the photos of the celebrities who have stayed there like Ava Gardener or the politicians like General De Gaulle. However, it seems that very little has been done to maintain this property since the Battle of El Alamein. The finishings of the hotel are very poor, and... More

If you are in Algiers, you need to go there, It's the oldest hotel in Algiers, located in the city center with a unique and beautiful garden. The hotel reception is decorated with the typical Algerian Ceramic, the staff is very customer focus, the waiters are very professionnal, the cuisine is good, the restaurant chef is always looking for people... Staff in bar ignores you when you are ready to order something to drink! Would never go back to this place with friends! Ordered 4 bottles of beers with my friends. Got served only 2 bottles. was asked to pay for 3 bottles!

On account of work, I had to go to Algeria. I had never been to Algeria before and, as such, had little idea what to expect. Y'know, it wasn't that bad. This is what you would call a 'historic property'. The walls of the bar are adorned with photos of previous visitors and, although I don't regard myself as any... More

I stayed four nights on a business trip; I had previously visited the hotel on several occasions for a meal and had been very impressed with the beautiful gardens and setting and the historic architecture. My stay did not live up to my high expectations, due to the mediocre standard of the two rooms that I tried, particularly the tired... More

El-Djazair is more than just a hotel: it is a very piece of historical architecture sitting atop of Algiers' hills. To put it this way - many of the Allied operations during Second World War were planned within El-Djazair's dependencies. As if this weren't enough, the rooms are clean and large, and if you get a room facing north you... More
