I stayed here recently when visiting Iowa for the first time for a family reunion. It was absolutely lovely. The bed was stacked with pillows and very comfortable, the temperature stayed within a pleasant range in the room, the whirlpool tub was relaxing, and breakfast was delicious! Many of the fixtures were updated and high-end, which I hadn't expected. All... More

Had a very nice stay here August of 2014. Lovely breakfast served, and they were willing to accommodate various breakfast requests from other guests. (Would have liked to see some de-caf coffee offered on the breakfast table). Rooms were clean, beautifully decorated and some rooms on the third floor had interesting lofts. The main living room was great for gathering... More

Experienced a wonderful stay with friendly, helpful staff. Quaint feel, very homey, close to Iowa State campus. Clean rooms with modern amenities, had the pleasure of staying close to Christmas so it was decorated in a very tastefull decor. Would stay here at the next opportunity.

If you are traveling on business or pleasure and need a place to stay in Ames Iowa, you need to contact Monte Parrish at the Iowa House. The entire experience was excellent. Great room, nice people and a wonderful breakfast.

We recently stayed at the Iowa House again when visiting our son. It is by far one of the most welcoming and comfortable inns we have had the pleasure of staying in. The rooms are beautifully furnished and so clean. The dining room provides delicious breakfasts with impeccable service. Snacks and beverages are also available during the day and evening.... More

Very nice property in a very good location. They provide snacks and a wonderful breakfast. My room 206 was a bit small but very adequate. The people that frequent this place are best treat of all, not you typical Holiday Inn.

I loved the layout of this bed and breakfast. It was very clean and spacious! I like the wifi access and the made to order breakfast. I was in room 201 which was at the top of the stairs. Didn't hear a lot of noise outside my door which I was worried about. The complimentary fruit and snack was a... More

Perhaps you are a professor, prospective student, returning alumnus, or business person visiting the nearby university. You could stay in some corporate and soul-less entity at the edge of town, or you could pick this former fraternity house for your stay. I recommend that you choose the latter. The Iowa House Hotel is a short walk from campus and the... More
