Never having stayed at a B&B before, I was a bit anxious about our visit. The Iowa House Hotel was warm, inviting, comfy and relaxing. We stayed there on a recent visit and truly enjoyed it. The beds were very comfortable, the room was clean, the decor of the whole house was upscale yet homey. The parking lot looked like... More

I stayed here for a job interview at ISU and I couldn't really relax and enjoy the hotel, but it was very clean and comfortable. Good location, too--not far from campus. I would happily stay here again, given the opportunity.

I have stayed at Iowa House twice, and will stay again. The location is pleasant, in the area of the campus. The rooms are clean and well appointed; the wireless works great, and the breakfasts are outstanding. I'll stay again.

I just stayed two nights at The Iowa House in Ames. This is a wonderful B&B. The beds were so comfortable. The best part is the breakfast! We had Eggs Benedict on Sunday morning, divine. I will be making excuses to come to Ames and stay there again.

In the middle of our week visiting my inlaws in Illinois, we drove to Ames (husband's alma mater) and we had the great fortune of staying here for 2 nights. We have a 10 month old who crawls everywhere, so I checked with the management before booking. They put us in Room 202, which was very large and spacious. The... More

Recently stayed at Iowa House. We stayed on the first floor right outside the dining room and kitchen. This is the only room without stairs which is what we needed. No problem, it was still quiet and secluded. Jacuzzi, fridge and room were all very nice. Food was very good, but they only gave small portions, and didn't offer "seconds",... More

Was hoping to get snowed in so we'd have an excuse to stay another day. Everything was perfect, from the room to the homemade breakfast cooked to order. Hoping my son decides to go to school here so I can come back often

My wife and I have stayed a total of three times here and it is a wonderful experience, from check in to check out. You really are made to feel like a first class guest. The breakfast experience is terrific. The atmosphere of the property is old-world charm, with modern amenities. Any trip to the area, we will stay here.

Terrible experience with the owner. We had rented the main floor for a weekend for wedding photos and he was extremely rude to several people. Was asked to leave the foyer for a couple minutes for private photos with the bride and groom (he was on the phone making a personal call at the time). He told the photographer, "I'm... More
