I'm not a regular user of this website, but I just joined specifically because I see that people use it to review hotels and get information on places they may stay, and I want to make sure as much relevant information as possible is available about this place. In reading other reviews from the last 3 years or so, I... More

Motel room was clean, heater was noisy and cycled on and off all night. The was no complimentary coffee available other than the in room mini pot. No breakfast was provided, which supprised us as even much lower priced motels now provide at least a continental breakfast. We were given 10% off at the attached restaurant, which explains much. Not... More

This is a fun place, but this Christmas season, their pool was closed for remodeling, no date for reopening, so glad we didn't decide on Clarion this year. I would recommend it if the pool was ok, not this year.

First the waterpark was closed- yeah I didnt see anything about this online. When I called and talked with them the gal said nothing. I heard from someone I work with that the water park was closed and I might want to double check. So when I called they confirmed that it was closed. No apologies nothing. When I checked... More

We stayed here on a Friday night prior to a Hawkeye game on Saturday. If you are staying for one night thn this hotel is ok. We called ahead after reading reviews and found out the waterpark was still closed, so we took our time getting to the hotel. It is a little outdated and it is humid and a... More

I will start by saying that we thought the room itself was fine for a mid-level hotel, but otherwise we were extremely disappointed. We called to make reservations on Saturday afternoon for a Saturday evening stay and no one bothered to mention anything about the waterpark being closed, even when we specifically mentioned that we had a child traveling with... We had a very short stay at his hotel (really just to sleep, arriving at 10 pm and leaving at 6 am). I've stayed there plenty of times before, including when it was a Holiday Inn. It seems to have gone down hill in recent years. The water park was closed. The sign at the desk said it was because... More

This was our 4th trip to this hotel; the first with the grandchildren. We picked the hottest week of the year, but the temp. In room was wonderful. We had 3 adults and 3 nine and ten year olds. We saw Amana and Kolona over 5 days, despite the heat. We had a 2-room suite Nd it was great. Had... More

We have come to this hotel every Labor Day weekend for over 30 years. This hotel used to be so nice and still has the possibility to be with some major renovations. The exercise room has machines that don't work, the kiddie pool is freezing, there are no lights in the courtyard, and there is an old freezer/fridge sitting outside... More

We stayed here one night while visiting the Amana Colonies. We usually stay in one of the B&B's in the Amanas and have been very happy with our stays there. This time, however, everything was booked so we made reservations at the Clarion. What a mistake. The desk staff is very disinterested and non-friendly. But I could live with that.... More
