I have stayed in Des Moines area a couple of times on business trips and was looking for a different location and hotel than previously have stayed at. This particular hotel was a good value for the money as rooms and hotel itself were very clean, front desk service was outstanding, and had good access to highway. The bed and pillows were one of the most comfortable I can remember. Other high points are complimentary newspaper at your door and better than average breakfast area. Only low point would have to be concerning the location. While access to I-80 is close by, there is only one good restaurant that is near the hotel and to find several others it was necessary to drive into town of Altoona which is about 4 miles away. Not a big deal, but one of the reasons I had looked to an alternate location for this trip as had previously stayed in Ankeny area which had similar issue.
