I'd love to write a better review of this place because the staff we spoke to were very pleasant and aiming to please, but honestly, the place needs a make-over - especially in the rooms. While I do realize it's in a state park - the rooms need new beds that don't squeak at the slightest movement, new linens, new... More

This is the 10th year our family (6 adults, 4 grandkids) have stayed here. I have seen a definite decline in food and room quality, particularly this past year. In some rooms, nothing, absolutely nothing, has changed over the ten years. The food, in both the main restaurant (Lakeside Grill) and the Café, has deteriorated in quality and choice. Yet,... More

Although the 1980's "hospital-chic" decor may not excite you (think teal and pink textured wallpaper and wide wooden handrails aplenty), this is a very nice, clean place to stay while enjoying Pokagon Park. The inn itself is enormous, with lots of places to explore and spread out. The staff is adult+, very helpful and reliable. We stayed in a room... More

We appriciate your staying with us and for letting us know about your experience at the Potawatomi Inn. I do apologize for the breadsticks, it appears as if they were not up to par for sure. We will be adding four more Kid Suites with bunkbeds later this year, they are very popular with families. Congratulations to your son on... More

Stayed in historic double room. Dull, small. tiny bathroom, noisy waterpipes, furniture was very shabby, sleep quality was good, restaurants were definately below par, The Park and the building was fabulous and the building was spacious and charming. The smell of chlorine from the pool was very strong and would not encourage me to to get in. The place needs... More

Joan, Thank you for your recent stay and for letting us know about it. I do apologize that it didn't live up to your expectations. We are local and stayed here for a few days before July 4th because we lost power. We have an annual pass that we use regularly for hiking and swimming. We stayed in the horseshoe section. The room was a little worn, but spacious and everything was clean and the price was very reasonable, . The shower was kind of... More

2nd time staying here. It was packed so my fiancě and I got the only available room which was historic 2 double beds. It was nice, clean, the bathroom was nice. We really enjoyed our stay. I guess the only thing that bothered me was we needed to pay 7$ to park. Confused why if we are staying in house?... More

Thanks for choosing to stay with us again, and for letting us know about your visit. The $7 is a park fee, once guests check in, we do provide a hang tag for them to use to get in and out of the park during their stay. We do routinely evaluate the operating hours of our Courtyard Cafe, and will... More

My family and I stay at this resort for a few days every summer for a reunion. The resort is decent. Old, rustic, and comfortable. Plenty of options onsite to fill your every vacation need, and if you need more, civilization is only a few minutes away in the town of Angola. Nature all around you and a short walk... More

Our family recently stayed at the Inn. The facilities look a bit worn - bed coverings and chair in room were faded and dirty. The halls are very dark. My wife and I stayed at the Potawatomi Inn on July 13th. We stayed in the older/historic part of the inn thinking it would have a lot of character. Instead of character we found the bathroom to be small, cramped, outdated, and in need of repair. There were other smaller problems with the room as well, however the biggest problem... More

We just had a family reunion here. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Potawatomi Inn Resort and Conference Center is located in beautiful Pokagon State Park, and on the shores of pristine Lake James, one of Indiana's largest lakes. Visitors will enjoy acres of outdoor recreational opportunities and all modern amenities. A historic structure, the Inn opened to the public in 1927. Many renovations and additions have added the modern conveniences that today's guests expect while preserving the historic importance of the Inn. The Inn features two restaurants. The Lakeview Grille is housed in the original dining room of the Inn and features a full menu and buffet service certain nights along with a bountiful Sunday Brunch. The Courtyard Cafe is a seasonal outlet that features quick service foods, our fresh baked pizza and ice cream. Guests can enjoy any one of the Inns many amenities including our craft room, where kids of all ages can create souvenirs to take home with them. Or if you are looking for a quiet place to read or do a puzzle in front of the fireplace, you can try the library or the Lonidow Lounge. Of course, the most popular amenity is the 1,600 acre Pokagon State Park with its miles of hiking and biking trails and not one, but two beaches. And don't think that we go dormant in the winter, from Thanksgiving weekend through the end of February the weekends come alive with the opening of the Toboggan Run which features two quarter mile refrigerated toboggan tracks that can reach speeds of 35 to 40 miles per hour! Come enjoy the Potawatomi Inn Resort and Conference Center, Indiana's year round playground! ... more   less
