We found this hotel by chance using our GPS. We called from the road and were quite surprised by the price for a double room. They must have hired new housekeepers since the poor review. I found the room and bathroom to be very clean including the carpet. We asked for a non-smoking room and upon entering it smelled fresh.... more

The staff was very helpful and kind; however, after switching from two different rooms, and needing to switch to another, we moved to another hotel. Both of the first rooms we tried to stay in had hair in the bathrooms. The air wasn't working in the first room, and when the front desk offered to moved us to another room... more

Just returned from a trip to Augusta and had a great stay at this Wingate Inn. First off, let me start by saying we had an executive suite. It was almost the same price as other sub-par dumpy places in the area. The suite was HUGE! Two sleeper sofas, dining room table with four chairs, a king bed, two tvs,... more

Stayed one night. The room and property were clean. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast on-site was decent, but the are several other options in the area. more

Unfortunately, this hotel doesn't live up to the description that appears on the Wingate web site. I traveled to Augusta for meetings at nearby Fort Gordon, and I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere (there are plenty of options, including another Wingate that I understand is much better!). Pros: 1. The location is convenient to Fort Gordon and major highways. 2.... more

Unfortunately, this is the second time I had the misfortune to be subjected to this dump. Dirty, noisy and occasionally "flood prone" (on my first visit, the room got flooded out by an overfiling bathtub above). The rooms are old and very worn. The "high speed internet" is a joke. I have stayed at other Wingates and they need to... more

First off, the room reservation process was pretty cumbersome. When I called to cancel my reservations, the guy on the phone scolded me because I didn't have my confirmation numbers and made a fuss about how he needed it to look up my reservation. Amazingly enough, he did it without the number. I asked if the confirmation number should have... more

This hotel was so nasty! I stayed here with several coworkers and we each had a different issue. I had the maid knock on my door while I was sleeping with the Do Not Disturb sign on my door. When I told her to come back in about an hour, she never did. When I called and asked for towels,... more

The hotel appears newer from the outside, but the rooms suggest otherwise. We requested a non smoking room on our on-line booking, but there weren't any available. We were placed on the 3rd floor - the hall reaked of cigarette smoke. Fortunately the smell in the room itself wasn't so pungent, but found it to be in need of a... more

I just completed a five night stay at the Wingate Inn on Belair Rd in Augusta, GA. I thought this hotel chain was relatively new, and indeed the hotel looks modern from the outside. When I walked into the room, I was far from impressed with the housekeeping efforts. A beer bottle was hiding behind the curtain, each dresser drawer... more
