My wife and our 2 little girls traveled 11 hours to attend a family wedding in Augusta. On our first night at the Hawthorn the patrons in the room above us were so loud we were unable to fall asleep. We could hear doors and drawers slamming as well as people running around the room. I contacted the front desk at 1:20am and spoke with a very soft-spoken lady. After my call the noise level diminished enough to fall asleep. Eventually we were awakened again at 2:30. I contacted the front desk again at 3am. The noise level didn't calm down so I called again at 3:45am. I told the employee they needed to kick the people out of the hotel, contact her manager or the police. Within minutes the noise stopped and we were finally able to fall asleep.

As it turns out, the patrons above us were young twenty-something’s who trashed the room with beer cans and liquor bottles strewn all over. The staff offered to relocate us, but we asked why we should be relocated when the others... more
