This place is located about 3 miles from downtown and 2 miles from Georgia Square Mall. Quite place and very clean room. The complimentary breakfast is simple but good for the price of the stay. I have stayed in a few Microtels and they were pretty nice for a lower tier hotel. Some websites say "Microtel Inn & Suites". Take the Suite off because there are no suites at this hotel in Athens. Considering the room was only around $60/night...it was okay...I guess. The room smelled funny (well, the whole hotel smelled funny, but I normally don't mind as long as my room at least smells normally), and was very hot and muggy when we first arrived. Staff were excellent...especially the general manager who was very patient and gave me great directions. I think it was the actual owner who made my reservation over the phone...he was wonderful as well. Hotel still looks fairly new considering how old it is. The rooms look like new, and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast area needs a little work because it is in the same room as the laundry, but other than that it was a great place to stay. more
