I picked the SpringHill Suites in Athens after reading several reviews of other hotels around the city that all had fair to middling descriptions and customer feedback. I saw on the Marriott web site that it was advertised as a "new" hotel and that was absolutely true. When I pulled into the parking lot the asphalt looked so fresh that I was araid my tires were going to stick to it. There were also only a couple of cars in the lot as all, and parked in the places you typically staff park. So had I not already made a reservation and seen the "now open" sign out from I might have wondered. But sure enoug, I checked in and was asking the girls at the front desk how long they had been open. "Since yesterday" was what they said and then they mentioned that I was actually their very first guest.
