I enjoyed my stay at the Gran Hotel Sula. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the public areas and rooms were clean, well appointed, and in good condition. The hotel may not be the most modern, but it is definitely taken care of. The hotel is located right across from the central square in the city. People not used... more

This may well have once been a 'Grand' hotel but it's now rather tired and in need of upgrading. Neverthless it is in a good central position and the pool-side restaurant is buzzing throughout day with local business people and families as well as travellers passing through. Avoid the bar area indoors though, musty and smelly carpets, - you can... more

We stayed there for two weeks about twenty years ago to visit my wife's family. (The choise avove didn't offer that option.) The hotel is simple & a bit older but we enjoyed it. I would recommend the cabana if it is still cheaper. We moved there the second night & liked it much better than the first room we... more

I moved to Gran Hotel Sula after discovering that the less expensive hotel I had booked was too unsatisfactory. I was quite pleased with my move, although the daily rate was nearly double at close to $100 daily. The physical plant was entirely satisfactory. Although I was on the top floor, I experienced no shortage of hot water or lack... more

Physically, a very nice hotel.Comfortable rooms, nice lobby, good bar. No warm water some mornings, on upper floors little and sometimes no water pressure. Nothing of interest in immediate area to do safely at night. Will look for a more interesting and safer neighborhood next time. more

This was my second stay in this hotel. My wife and I were stranded during Holy Week -everything shuts down beginning Wednesday, including buses out of town and banks, restaurants. We kicked back and enjoyed our stay. The rooms are pleasant , spacious and clean. The meals in the cafe were adeqaute and reasonable. The staff were excellent. We were... more

Gran Hotel Sula was a fun surprise--so clean, comfortable, cool and accomodating. The staff was friendly and professional and helped with transportation, email service, organizing a group picnic. The location is picturesque--right in the heart of this hot tropical town overlooking the town square and surrounded by mountains. My only complaint is that they had run out of the world's... more

I got no response from the hotel when making reservations on the web site but my travel agent booked the room. I arrived at 10:00 pm and the front desk was ready for me. Perfect English from the very friendly staff. I called for purified water at 10:30 pm and housekeeping was there within minutes, surprised that there was no... more

Everything I have read from others here is pretty much true. The Gran Hotel Sula is an older hotel and is showing some wear. It also has a great location in town, right across from the park, a beautiful pool, the Skandia Cafe (one of the best places in town for a quick cafe meal) and a gracious, attentive staff.... more

This hotel is well situated just across from the Central Plaza. The rooms are fine overlooking either the Plaza or at the back, the pool. Good size rooms are clean with safe box. The service friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds. Good value, we will stay there again. more
