Stayed at Jungle River Lodge for 5 days. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The purpose of our trip was Spanish lessons in the mornings and adventure, hosted by Jungle River Lodge, in the afternoons. The Central America Spanish School teams up with Jungle River Lodge to offer a Wilderness Learning Adventure. For under $500 USD our accomodations, daily excursions,... more

We had the most spartan room I have ever stayed in, no towels, cold water only, plywood floors, latch and padlock for the door. If you are looking for luxurious accommodations, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a unique place to stay with some really down to earth staff, and the chance to meet great people from around the... more

Not sure how anyone could come up with anything but a 5 rating for this place. If you are planning on air conditioning and a 'civilized' experience, maybe you should have stayed at home. Just got back a few days ago with a couple of friends. Specifically went to this location for a zip line and hang out in the... more

Remember where you are and what you came for. For me, that means that we went to Honduras seeking some scuba diving and jungle adventure. If you are looking for all the creature comforts you had at home, then maybe you should have stayed at home. What we found at the Jungle River Lodge was wonderful, friendly people seeking to... more

This is a great spot deep in the jungle. We stayed in the dorm and it was like camping. Lots of bugs, dirt, etc. That said, it was free with a tour. Nice people work here, and its a good place, just a bit too rough for me. more

During a canopy tour, after failing to connect the safety equipment from being in a hurry to take the next group, the employee plunged to the bottom hitting the ground like a rag doll. At the same time,my wife, connected to the chord and pushed off the ledge by the employee, her life dangled a hundred feet in the air... more

The setting for this basic lodge is set upon the Cangrejal River, just outside La Ceiba, Honduras. Absolutely a great place to absorb the jungle, participate in a range of outdoor activities, swim in the river or lounge in one of their natural pools. The rooms are average and shared bathrooms are clean. There are two drawbacks which should be... more

We recently trekked to Honduras for a wedding in Roatan. Came down a few days early to go white water rafting on the mainland. I found the Jungle River Lodge online. The price was right -- $9 a night and we'd get a night free with the white water rafting -- so I emailed them and told them we would... more

I am very glad that I stayed at the Jungle River Lodge. The rooms and community area are arranged right next to the Canjegral River and the roaring of the water is the overriding sound. There are pools in the rocks next to the lodge where you can go for a dip, or you can take the 25ft plunge into... more

The Jungle Lodge is more of a camp, than a lodge. While it is a fabulous place to meet other travelers and feel close to nature...you fall asleep to the sound of a rushing river and jungle animals, the rooms are filthy even for a camp setting. There was rodent feces on almost every bed in the widely utilized dormitory... more
