I had an incredible trip while visiting Olanchito. However this was the cream of the trip. It was wonderful. The service was excellent and the staff were amazing. My friend and I had found a few coconuts and the staff were so sweet to help us open them. They laughed at us for being silly. But they also were fun... More

We spent two nights here after a medical mission project - just what the doctor ordered! If you wanted to hang out at the pool, walk along the endless beaches nearby, zip-line or snorkel, or finish that novel on the beach in a hammock, there were plenty of opportunities to enjoy yourself.

We overnighted here on the way out of one region of our medical trip to Honduras. Great R&R spot after a hard week. The resort is quite large and has a local Honduran flavor. It appears to be a vacation spot for Honduran families. There is a great palapa bar and dance area - right on the beach. Terrific water... More

We stayed at the Palma Real with our 4 young children during the second week of March, 2015. We really enjoyed our time together in this gorgeous place. We have to disagree with many of the bad reviews it has received, with a few exceptions. During our stay the resort was rather empty, which is actually how we prefer it... More

Palma Real in La Ceiba, Honduras: We stayed here during March Break and were amazed at how quiet the resort was. There were always loungers available at the pool or beach. Yes, the loungers are in poor repair, but that is what your nice navy blue beach towel is for:) The beach is brown sand, but clean. The waves were... More

Stayed at this resort with our 3 kids in March and had an interesting stay. Let me start with Sunwing, as they list this resort as a 4 star "Smile" family resort and have pictures of waterslides on their description site. This, in my opinion, is false advertisement. There are no water slides on site. There is a water park... More

if you are the least bit picky this is not the place for you.this hotel needs a big update and a change in attitude towards tourists.when the locals come in they have fresh bread and white wine if no locals then the pickings can be pretty slim. the staff try very hard but even at the a la carte the... Good things: Clean standard hotel. Food is good but limited, a la carte only on Wed, Sat, Sun. Hotel wasnt busy so lots of chairs on beach and pool. Met lots of people. Zip lining and hot springs tour was well worth it. Staff were nice but did not engaging in conversation. Air conditioning worked well to block out noise.... More

We are currently staying here and then his resort is awful. The rooms have bugs of unknown species and are very run down . There's only one bar and the drink selection is very limited. The food is good but the same for lunch and dinner every day.the snack bar serves inedible grilled ham sandwiches. There's plenty of staffing but they... More

For those who only read the 1st two lines.... Here it is... 3 stars resort, 4 star service, 4 star beach ( would be 5 if it were only had that turquoise reflection) Food is good, limited choices, but all mostly good. Get on the cheap, (-$900) and you aren't the high maintenance type, Go! Would I go back?.. I'm... More
