This is a little gem. We arrived late and the lovely women, daughter, Mom, cousins, took us in with grace and charm. We asked about a dinner as we had not eaten much and Helen cooked up a typical dinner for us. Our room Cielo (heaven) was just that. A view that was amazing, big windows, a small deck, comfortable... I stayed two days in January. The family is available to help you with your needs night and day. The breakfast is bountiful, a great start to the day. Extra meals are offered upon request. I had to leave super early, 3am for a bus, so she left me a great uncooked breakfast in containers, so that I got breakfast... More

What a wonderful discovery! Booked 2 nights, stayed 2 weeks. A lovely, warm family who welcome you and look after you so well. Set in a beautiful, tranquil location. A ten min walk from the centre of town or 2 mins in a cheap moto taxi.

I stayed at Casa Doña Elena for about a week in June 2014 with a couple of friends. Doña Elena was an amazing lady who did her best to make us comfortable and at home with her. She was a joy to stay with, and I wouldn't recommend any other place to stay on your first visit to Central America!

It's too bad Honduras has gotten so much bad press for being unsafe lately- there are no problems in Copan. There is a strong security presence and the town really appreciates the tourists- unlike some places in the world that have long since become tired of tourists. The best part of staying at Case Doña Elena is that you get... More

Elena is the star proving that words are only a small part of communication. In fact all the staff were welcoming and the room was comfortable. I had not paid for breakfast but Elena provided coffee and a bowl of fruit both mornings I was there, which was nice. The guest house is high on a hill, which provides a... More

Probably my favorite part of my trip to honduras that I took in March. I went with my boyfriend and my three friends and from the moment we walked in they made us feel incredibly welcome. We explored the Ruinas all day and came back to a super clean room, comfy beds and just a gorgeous view. The home cooked... More

This was a lovely hotel. Dona Elena is very attentive and sweet. It was quiet when I arrived and so they upgraded my room for free. The room was clean and very comfortable. It included a fan, so it was nice and cool. The breakfast was great too. Although it is a little out of town - up the hill... More

Elena and Lupita made my short stay a wonderful one! They made me feel like I was family! Great, home-cooked food, endless Copan coffee, fresh free lemonade, coupled with clean rooms made it the most memorable stay.

We spent 2 nights here while visiting the Copan ruins, which are less than 10 minutes away by car.We speak Spanish and received a lovely warm greeting from Dona Elena herself when we arrived late in the evening from Quirigua, Guatemala. It is true that it is located only 6 blocks from the main square of the town of Copan... More
