Returned from Deep Blue after a seven day stay. What a wonderful place to dive, snorkel, and make new friends. The rooms are big, spacious, and very clean. I am not a diver but loved the shore snorkeling. You can also go out on the boat with the divers and snorkel. Shirley was the best. All of our needs we're... More

This place is primitive so if your looking for a 5 star resort then don't stay here. That being said we enjoyed our stay all of the staff were friendly and we loved Shirley. If your looking for an adventure then this is the place for you. The diving was great Steve was our dive master he was very knowledgeable... More

We just returned from 10 days of wonderful diving in Utila from Deep Blue Resort, a lovely 10-unit resort dedicated to diving and whale shark research. The rooms are spacious and clean, with gorgeous ocean views. The location is isolated although only a short boat ride to town. Because the resort caters to scuba divers, mealtimes revolve around the boat... More

Unless you are only going to dive, eat on time at the designated table, and sleep I'd recommend against this place. Shirley's poor temper casts a gloomy atmosphere over the whole operation. Lights are out in the main building (only wi-fi area) right after dinner. No fun, no camaraderie with fellow divers. The room had 1 very small, filthy A/C,... More

Beach location on the island of Utila. Shirley offers fine hospitality and homestyle accommodations. Dive staff helpful. Could be more variety in the menu and general maintenance of property isn't the best. Dive operation somewhat chaotic with stops for diesel and tank refills between dives. Captain Ivor very good at finding offshore seamounts and whale sharks for limited interaction. Insect... More

I would like to give it 3 1/2 stars. This was a nice resort with good diving, and a great dive crew. The resort was located far out of the main town so it was nice and quiet. We had to take the boat to town, which was fine with our group. The rooms were very nice and spacious. The... More

This resort is isolate, peaceful and personable. Great dive staff, I like that you can leave your gear on the boat and not haul it around everyday. Me being a vegetarian, the food selection isn't the greatest.

The staff are great and live by the rule of "customer service". Each day was well organized and timely. Boat/dive crew took advantage of great weather to reach distant sites and prepared just about everything you'll need for an amazing dive. Safety is first for them. Rooms are a good size and comfortable. The dining arrangement allowed for friendly conversations... More

Utila is a very isolated island and getting to and from it is an adventure, an expensive one. We had arranged to fly with Cpt. Angelo on Island Air on Saturday from Roatan to Utila but we missed our flight out of Detroit. Because we needed Cpt. Angelo to fly us on Sunday, which is not his usual day, we... More

The staff of this resort is excellent! Had a lot of fun, was able to sit back and relax for the first time in a very long time. As a dive instructor the divemasters we had were excellent and very eager to help out and very knowledgeable of the area they work at. I would stick with this resort whenever... More
