We visited at the end of July as part of a day excursion from a cruise line. We LOVED the place and are planning a future trip to stay a whole week. Our goal was to spend a day and see if it was the kind of place we wanted to stay at longer in the future. Well we are... More

We are going back for our third vacation in as many years to Paya Bay this month (Aug 2014). We love the total relaxation and the ability to "get away from it all" that this gem of a resort provides. Although my wife has several food allergies, she has never had a problem here. The food is superb and cooked... More

Paya Bay is a wonderful resort well worth the price. The ride from the airport: About 40-45 minutes in a minivan and the driver is very careful. Most of the way is coastal paved road but the last 6KM is gravel/dirt but not to bumpy. Arrival: All smiles and delicious cold fresh watermelon juice. 10 minutes later we were in... More

We recently traveled here for a long weekend (a Friday to a Monday) from New Orleans. I'd first like to mention how easy it is to get here. Unfortunately, no direct flights are from New Orleans, so we had to route through Houston. Not a big deal. A swift layover catapulted us on our way once we landed in Roatan.... More

There are only 8 rooms--four hanging over the ocean (#4 has extra side window) and four looking laterally over an expansive beach toward the ocean. It is hard to go wrong. Lots of beach chairs, lots of shade, and lots of beautiful beach. Great tree top yoga pavilion. Casual and informal. No need to pack much of anything. Very good... More

I have been here twice and cannot wait to return. My most recent visit was just a day trip from a cruise ship, but have also spent a week here previously. Truly unique place. Located on the east side of the island, 8km down an unpaved road. Privately owned by a very nice family who will take very good care... More

We just returned from our honeymoon at Paya Bay! The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, room #4 had gorgeous views, comfy bed and very clean. We were picked up immediately from the airport and the ride was easy, thanks to Tom and Francisco. When we arrived at Paya Bay, there was watermelon juice awaiting us and our room... More

This was our first trip to Paya and Roatan as well. Customs was a breeze. We rented an SUV from Ramirez Rental Cars and will use them again in the future. If you are planning to rent a car while on your trip, I would strongly suggest a jeep or SUV if Paya is your destination. We stayed in Room... More

I booked this for my wife and I months before our cruise, not really knowing what to expect, and just hoping for the best. We wanted something that was out of the touristy area where we could just have a no-human-contact day of sorts. When we got off the ship, we expected to have to walk out of the main... More

We just got back from another great trip at Pay Bay. I think that this is trip number seven for us. And it just gets better every time. We stayed in Room #2 this is the room we stay in every time. The trip went as scheduled from the time we left home and arrived at Paya Bay, no delays... More
