Just returned from 10 days at Palmetto Bay Plantation. This is our first visit to Roatan and can't say enough about our time. In reading the reviews below, we did not encounter any of the negative items. The staff was extremely friendly, the beach groomed, our house inviting and comfortable, food excellent. Eric and Gilroy at the restaurant were a... More

This quiet resort is wonderful for a laid back relaxing stay. Having a house to do this is the best. I slept the afternoon away in the hammock on the porch during a rain storm and it was so rejuvenating. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was good. I was there during the slow season, so there were only a... More

After a great day of snorkeling around the island, our boat captain took us to Palmetto Bay Plantation for lunch. We were met at the dock by an owner of the resort who immediately made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Before we could even dock he was barking orders at our captain saying we should have called first and that... More

i just returned from my third visit to the beautiful Palmetto Bay Plantation. It is a secluded resort on its own beach, perfect for a relaxing and quiet vacation. What stands out at Palmetto Bay is its staff, specifically Eric in the restaurant and Maritsa in the office. They always go out of their way to embrace each guest and... More

My family and I just returned from our stay at Palmetto Bay Plantation. Our stay had it's ups and down's, but overall we enjoyed our time on Roatan. We are experienced travelers and have stayed in over two dozen beach resorts throughout Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. The overall beauty can not be debated as Palmetto is stunning, unfortunately... More

Palmetto Bay Plantation is a beautiful and secluded development on a gorgeous bay. While it doesn't have the advantages of the "machine" that makes international hotel chains run smoothly, it has the genuine warmth of a small community bent on making your trip meaningful and memorable. The houses are set in amongst the trees and the beach is groomed, hammocks... More

This review is broken up into the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. The Good: Several individuals made us feel welcome, cared for and glad to be there. Gilroy and Eric, in the restaurant, and Mia and Mauritsa (Sp?), in guest services, all were warm, kind and invested in us having a good experience at Palmetto Bay. Gilroy an Eric... More

Well where do I start… at first glance the place was beautiful and the staff seemed very friendly. That is until they robbed us blind of all our electronics, cash and anything else they could get their hands on. On day one while my group (all females) was asleep someone or some persons entered our villa, our room and our... More

The hotel s very secluded, away from everything, no wifi. We stayed there one night and we were robbed!! Someone who had keys to our villa came in and stole our electronics and cash that wasn't locked up in the safe. Our suitcases were rummaged through, and doors left unlocked and open by the perp. I thank God we were... More

Got a good deal for this hotel from groupon. The house we were given was a short walk from the restaurant/beach area which was fine with us it had lots of room for our 1 year old to run around. All the food at the restaurant was very good. Eric and Roy at the restaurant were great waiters and made... More
