Roatan and Palmetto Bay Plantation Resort provided the most unusual and pleasurable vacation for me and friends. Relaxing, perfect weather, great food, warm inviting ocean waves, and more. We based at Palmetto and Roatan---saw the villages, tourist areas, great restaurants, relaxing atmosphere. Then explored mainland Honduras--easy transportation by small plane, ferry and not too expensive. Palmetto provides privacy away from... more

We just spent 8 days in paradise. The villas are beautiful. They are close to the water. Many times we had the beach to ourselves or shared the beach with only one other couple. The food was good, not a huge selection, but you'll find something you like. The burrito del mar is stuffed with seafood & excellent. The road... more

This is a very romantic get away, secluded, but comfortable. Many things to do, but can also just relax and read a good book. Service very friendly, and the food was good. The grounds are beautiful and accommadations comfortable. I can't wait to go again. more

I would highly recommend Palmetto Bay as a vacation destination in Roatan. It was a perfect combination of rest and relaxation - being somewhat secluded within a gated property, but close enough to the active night life in the west end where you can see the most incredible sunsets. If you are a scuba diver, this is your place. All... more

I love Palmetto Bay. I have travel all across the Caribbean and been to several different islands.. and Roatan is by far my favorite. This trip was my 3rd time to Palmetto Bay and it just keeps getting better and better. From the hotel dog Gaucho to the private beach and dock. Palmetto bay has it all. The wait staff... more

My whole family stayed at the Palmetto for easter break. We liked the place, staff was very nice but the mosquitoes were terrible. Unfortunately I am writing this after a week of [--]… My daughter who is almost 7 years old was one of the 4 confirmed cases, staying at the Palmetto during April, with MALARIA in El Salvador. We stayed at Palmetto during the Easter week this year and, being long-time Roatan fans and previous guests of other resorts, we were very pleasantly surprised. The bungalows are tastefully furnished, the beds oh so comfortable and the silence at night is just a luxury in the world we live in. I feel sorry for the poster whose son fell ill while on... more

My family of 6 traveled to Roatan for a week. We stayed at Palmetto for the whole week and were eaten alive by various different types of bugs. We could not leave the room without being covered (head to toe) in bug spray. If that wasn't bad enough the bugs were also in our villa. We think the real disappointment... more

Love the place! the houses are so tropical, you KNOW you are in a fabulous tropical paradise. The beach is beautiful, and full service of the resort is great. The food was always good, and consistent. The service can be a little slow, but I found this to be true on most of the island. We stayed in other places... more

Truth is, we had a wonderful time at this Resort and thought we had found a great place to return to again and again. Unfortunately, I am writing you from the hospital room of my son Matias who is 3 1/2 years of age. He contracted both Dengue AND Malaria (thank goodness the most easily treatable type) while staying at... more
