If you're looking for an inexpensive but totally awesome stay in Roatan, you simply cannot beat Half Moon Resort. This is no 5- or even 4-star hotel...but then the rates reflect that! Located in Half Moon Bay, a few hundred yards north of West End, Half Moon Resort is a collection of bungaloes nestled in a grove of palm trees, right on the water. Not all bungaloes face the ocean however. Those that do are obviously the best. I particularly like Cabin 4, right next to the restaurant. All bunglaoes hold two units. You step out of your bedroom onto a large verandah which you share with the other unit , and from there, you walk right out on the beach and on to the little warf. From there, you dive into the crystal-clear water and you'll find yourself in an aquarium! There are thousands of fish all around. The resort even gives you snorkling equipment free!
