Casa argentina is a great place to stay for a while. For 200 quetzales you have a private room for a week. Ofcourse there is only 1 hot shower (without light), you need to bring your own toiletpaper and the toilets are leeky, but you pay only 20 dollars a week! The owner is really nice and can help you... This place unfortunately is overpriced for the quality it delivers. By the time we arrived in the afternoon, they showed us a room which was not even prepared (old sheets on bed and garbage in bathroom). The rooms was quite damp and quite smelly and the shower leaking. The hostel offers a great terrace though with nice views and the... More

The only real reason I could warrant staying here is if you're doing an early morning Quetzaltrekkers hike, as Quetzaltrekkers works out of the back of Casa Argentina. Otherwise, it's just kind of a mediocre property. The small private room we rented for one night was 100Q (ensuite with a small bathroom) and it had a TV, but the power... More

I stayed in casa Argentina with a friend in a private room. The hostel was good for the price we payed, relatively clean room and wifi service, and a clean kitchen and bathrooms. The showers weren't amazing, not that I have seen anything close to a good shower since I've arrived in Central America. Also it is comfortable if you... More

I stayed at Casa Argenina's for six weeks. The rooms are basic and very cheap. There is a mediocre kitchen that lacks organization, matches, and cutlery. The wifi only works in the outside courtyard, which poses a problem during the long rainy season. There is free drinking water available and you are bound to link up with other travelers. I... More

If you look for something cheap, but not a dark hole, this is definatelly great choice. For great price 80Q (private room for a couple, shared bathroom - for contrast, Don Diego was for 130Q with much worse comfort), you can get a big room with biiiiig window and a view on roofs and mountains. There is a wifi, but... More

spent the night here prior to hike up Volcan Tajulmulco: - cheap, simple, old furnishings/bed. unsure if sheets were washed... slept in my own sleeping bag and was fine - cold showers, ** if you want a hot shower find the office of quetzal trekkers and go across, there is one shower that is wonderfully warm!! - internet is available... I spent one restless night here. I was going on a trek with Quetzaltrekkers the next morning so it was convenient. I thought the hostel was grimy and run down. Noisy too. I stayed in the dorm, so I'm not sure what the private rooms are like.

We had a horrible experience here. We were going on a Quetzaltrekker hike early the next morning so we thought we would give it a try. Worst mistake ever. We had reserved a private room with her via email and had confirmed the day before. When we arrived she only had a tiny little bed that we could barely fit... More

My husband stayed here last weekend the night before and one night after his trek with quetzal trekkers. His first words about it = "that place was a HOLE!" He stayed in the dorm and also in a private room and while the proximity to quetzal trekkers & the price made it ideal for what he was doing, he definitely... More
