We stayed four nights here in late October and early November and really enjoyed it. Our room was large, clea, attractive and comfortable. The owner, Marieke, was friendly and helpful. There was good wi-fi, a well equipped kitchen, an outdoor area in which to eat and an indoor "lounge" area. The showers had hot water. The price was more than reasonable.... More

This place is right in center of Xela on walking distance of bars, restaurants, Spanish schools and supermarket. The rooms are spacious in an authentic house and excellent value for money. We had the room with private bathroom, including a living room and hot shower! Wifi is free and Marieke will help you to sort out and arrange the tours... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a room with shared bathroom. The rooms are large and comfortable, with a desk and a big closet to store our bags. The owner really does a good job taking care of her house and making sure it was comfortable for her guests. The bathrooms and showers were... More

This is a great guesthouse to stay in when travelling in Guatemala! I stayed there for a month and just loved it. The house is neat, very clean, offers beautiful rooms and a well-equipped kitchen. Wifi is free and the host, Marieke, is very friendly and attentive. The location is perfect, near Parque Central. I stayed in one of the... More

Unlike Antigua or Lake Atitlan, Xela has a small selection of hotels to choose from, especially for budget travelers. The price was very reasonable. The house and the rooms were clean but humble. Marieke, the owner was attentive and checked in with us to see that we were happy. Prefect location in a beautiful old building. 2 nights well spent... More

Casa Renaissance has large private rooms with comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen, book exchange, lovely outdoor common areas with hammocks and a cosy lounge/dinning room with a huge tv with hundreds of films. The location is also excellent. My girlfriend and I extended our stay for another week as we felt right at home. Marieke is a wonderful host.... More

The place was immaculately kept and well equipped kitchen and common areas providing everything from a bar mix to spanish language games. My Mom and I were lucky to stay at Casa Renaissance for three nights. Our room was huge, clean, and had comfortable beds. The little courtyard was a really nice place to hang out and relax after a long day. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and the showers also has consistent warm water. Marieke helped us book our tours... More

During our exploration in Guatemala, this is without doubt the best place we stayed, if you do the value for money comparison. Rooms are VERY big, nicely decorated. There are 2 toilets and 2 hotwater showers for 3 rooms to share, and the other 2 rooms have private bathrooms. Free coffee and tea the whole day, a super stocked kitchen... More

After staying at an impersonal, cold and slightly over-priced hostel in Xela for one night, we stumbled upon Casa Renaissance and booked in immediately. The hostel is airy, the rooms are nice and big and the showers are piping hot. It was also cheaper than our first hostel, and we got so much more from the experience. The kitchen is... More
