We spend a two nights in this place before going for a trek in the mountains. The very nice Dutch owner Mareike is warm hearted and helpful. The rooms are big and comfortable. The location is very central and makes it easy to walk to the centre of the town. We made a trekking trip with GuateGuides - they know... More

I am a solo traveler in my 40's and I struggle to find places to stay that are in "the sweet spot" between a hostel and an upscale hotel. Casa Renaissance is that place. With only 5 rooms, it's easy to get to know other travelers, and it feels more like a home than a hostel or hotel. While I... More

I stayed in Casa Renaissance for a total of 4 weeks (2 stays of 2 weeks each). This hotel is a jewel: 5 very spacious, very clean, and very nicely decorated rooms. The shared bathrooms (for 3 rooms) are kept spotlessly clean, as is the well-equipped communal kitchen, by the very hospitable Dutch owner. Two lovely courtyards, and a huge... More

Casa Renaissance has a reputation as an excellent budget choice that is largely well-deserved. The location is fantastic, the prices are wholly reasonable (and in the case of the rooms with shared bathrooms, a steal), and plenty of additional touches including free water and kitchen use are a big perk. We stayed for a total of three nights, with two... More

Very large comfortable spotless room. Very central (two min walk from parque central) with nice touches like free drinking water. Lovely clean communal shower and toilet area. Marieke friendly and helpful. Booked an amazing physio massage for us!

Really nice owner and helpfull staff. The rooms are large and clean. Good showers. You can use the kitchen and fridge for your OWN cooking. The hostel is centrally located. All (!) tours can be booked by the owner who is a dutch girl called Marieke.

Only stayed a couple of nights, but the place was very clean and had spacious rooms. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies and had free drinking water! Had a nice hang out area, good wifi, and Marieke was very helpful when we needed to organize an early morning taxi.

I chose to say at Casa Renaissance because of: 1. Location two blocks from central park 2. Feels comfortable 3. Marieke (owner) is welcoming 4. The price is excellent 5. Rooms are large 6. Guests have use of a fully functioning kitchen 7. There is a common area with couches, large tv and 800 movies 8. Marieke's suggestions on where... More

Thank you for having us and looking after us Marieke! Our stay here was wonderful...was hard to leave because it was so homely. Highlights: - We could cook our own meals in the kitchen - Porbably the best wifi connection we've had all trip - Having a hot shower was great after a big hike up the volcano - Rooms... More
