We stayed in one of the cheaper rooms with shared bathroom. The room was very basic but clean. The mattresses were a bit too hard and the pillows too thin for good sleep. What is best in this place is the beautiful garden patio with lots of plants, hammocks and chairs. Perfect place for relaxing. The staff were friendly and... More

We ended up meeting Melanie at the restaurant who kindly offered a peaceful and harmonious place to stay. It was a wonderful experience coming from all the rest of the friends, including the wonderful couple whom originally were impressed with the place. Highly recommend whatever your interests are..

In the very center of Livingston, this is a very nice place to stay. The owners have put all their love and effort into decorating their hotel and restaurant (across the street) with a lot of little details. The clean and comfortable rooms are organized around a lovely patio, which is a nice place to hang out and read a... More

Well design environment to chill out and pass good time with family/ friends. Nice cool nights in a clean town where people approach you to discuss and have a good time. Nice time passing to rio dulces after a good night of sleep and go kayaking and getting knowledge of what the style of environment you meet, you can tell... More

Stayed 3 nights in course of a backpacking trip Belize - Guatemals - Honduras. Arrived by boat from Punta Gorda, Belize. Run the gauntlet of waterfront hustlers (best line is "A friend is meeting me"), 2 blocks up Calle Principal is immigration check-in, seamless, few more doors is a coffee place with expresso. I stop. Turns out is also a... More

This hotel is the most conveniently located but once you get inside it is very peaceful and relaxing. The room with a bathroom is very clean and cheap. The owners and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I felt like at home. Thank you so much for your kindness. They also run a restaurant called McTropic on the other... More

Its one of the closet hotels to the main dock and is easy to miss...look for the little wooden cafe with several stools on the left just before the top of the hill on the main street that leads up the hill from the dock. The rooms and hotel were clean and the open-air common area/patio was a very relaxing... More

We had a great time staying in this family run hotel. It is relaxed, clean, nicely decorated and in the centre so you are close to all the bars and restaurants. The location near the main dock makes it attractive if you in a hurry to get an early boat. We did not try their McTropic restaurant but we were... More

My wife and I (62 yrs and 57 Canadian) stayed at the Rios Tropicales on two occassions during the Spring of 2012 for a couple of days each. We thoroughly enjoyed our stays and would return in a heartbeat. The location is wonderful, close to the boats to Punta Gorda or Honduras, right near lots of quaint restaurants and shops... More
