Room was average size, no window with three beds. Private bathroom with tiny sliver of window. Shower water was hot. Used the Free Wifi but didn't eat at the restaurant. Great location in Panajachel. Porters and Service was good.

We stayed here on a service trip March 2014. To be honest, the rooms were not the cleanest... there were 12 rooms we had all together and I think half of us had cockroaches at one point or another. Another room in our group also had overflowing plumbing. However, the employees were helpful in getting rid of the insects for... More

A decent room in a fun, interesting part of town. I traveled with a group and the girls all stayed in a large room with multiple beds. Private bathroom for only our use was a huge relief. Our room was on the outside of the building which meant we had a window (essential as there is no AC), though there... More

We did not select this hotel as it was part of a tour. All I can say is never again. Working in the industry I have seen many different style and star rated hotels but this would have to be the worst I have seen. So dirty. Window seals, and let's not mention the bathroom. Have a look at the... More

We have traveled with our church work team to this hotel three times. The first two were OK. We expected modest rooms and got them. However, the last time was horrible. Our first room had cockroaches crawling up and down the walls. There was no window for circulation and the shower stall glass fell in on me. The next night,... More

There are lots of places to stay in Pana that are nicer but the Kakchiquel is always clean and the staff is friendly. I use this hotel frequently because the value is unbeatable. The going rate is less than $25 a night with breakfast. There are few places in town that can compete with them on value. If you want... More

We slept there for one night, was okay for a single night, wouldn't stay for another. A dark room, very tiny bathroom/toilet. Shower was dangerous, cuz the warmwater came from a seperate heater which had loosen cables... No carpet for the bathroom, in some rooms there was no warm water.

I travel to Panajachel very frequently for work and have been doing so for over 2 years. I have never had a more unpleasant experience such as mine ANYWHERE in Guatemala. The older portly fellow (Horatio Reyes) who manages the hotel was extremely friendly at first. I had 4 guests over (3 are indigenous Mayan people who work for me,... More

We got the rooms cheap (Q200 for a single, Q250 for a double) but it was all a bit shabby and the uncomfortable... ok if you want a cheap place to crash (but advertised price not so cheap). Nowhere to sit outside. Ok breakfast.

10 weeks in Guatemala and this was my least appealing hotel experience.Yes, the staff are friendly and the place is clean but it is completely charmless. Dark, dreary small rooms - ours had no window and no circulating air.Noise coming up the stairwell and from the drinkers and talkers sitting in the common area right outside our bedroom. Smelly bathroom.... More
