There are lots of places to stay in Pana that are nicer but the Kakchiquel is always clean and the staff is friendly. I use this hotel frequently because the value is unbeatable. The going rate is less than $25 a night with breakfast. There are few places in town that can compete with them on value. If you want... More

We slept there for one night, was okay for a single night, wouldn't stay for another. A dark room, very tiny bathroom/toilet. Shower was dangerous, cuz the warmwater came from a seperate heater which had loosen cables... No carpet for the bathroom, in some rooms there was no warm water.

I travel to Panajachel very frequently for work and have been doing so for over 2 years. I have never had a more unpleasant experience such as mine ANYWHERE in Guatemala. The older portly fellow (Horatio Reyes) who manages the hotel was extremely friendly at first. I had 4 guests over (3 are indigenous Mayan people who work for me,... More

We got the rooms cheap (Q200 for a single, Q250 for a double) but it was all a bit shabby and the uncomfortable... ok if you want a cheap place to crash (but advertised price not so cheap). Nowhere to sit outside. Ok breakfast.

10 weeks in Guatemala and this was my least appealing hotel experience.Yes, the staff are friendly and the place is clean but it is completely charmless. Dark, dreary small rooms - ours had no window and no circulating air.Noise coming up the stairwell and from the drinkers and talkers sitting in the common area right outside our bedroom. Smelly bathroom.... More

Good central location with dozens of nearby restaurants. Adequate sized rooms and bathroom are clean. Two spacious lounges near the small pool ideal for reading. Friendly staff and reasonable rates round off what is a good hotel to spend a couple of nights.

This is a three story budget hotel that has free wifi, complimentary American breakfast, free parking, cable TV. It has a large restaurant on the main floor by the entrance. This is a hotel that is very safe and family orientated but would appear to someone on vacation that it needs repairs. In other words the rooms all need work.... More

You can't really call this a hotel with any sort of confidence. The room we had was tiny, old and hot water was intermittent. Much worse was the noise level; even with earplugs it was nigh impossible to sleep here as we had a room on the first floor next to the stairs, where we could hear everything from the... More

Our room was a reasonable size and the bathroom was clean with hot water. There were some english channels on the TV. Wifi was available in the lobby area but not in the room. Staff were friendly and helpful and supplied extra pillows when asked. Located on the main street, plenty of places to eat close by and an easy... More

Our room was at the top of the stairs and therefore had a lot of passing foot traffic - and many early/late night wifi hunters in the common areas making it not such a peaceful place. The bathroom was tiny and beware of the step getting in and out! We were also unfortunate enough to have some visiting cockroaches too
