We had a room with a lake view and it was WELL worth it! The view first thing in the morning was beautiful! And it was so convenient to walk mere steps to the lake to hop on a boat to cross the lake! We went to Santiago Atitlan and to San Antonio Palopo and it was nice to get... More

The rooms are spacious, the views spectacular and the breakfasts very good. Sadly the town is just a tourist trap so when you step outside you are faced with stall after stall after stall of the same tourist fare which does, unfortunately, impact on the close environs of the hotel. Not their fault but it does.

Hotel was quite mediocre at best. You can deal without having potable water in the bathrooms but 20+ year old pillows that felt like bricks and smelled like mold were unacceptable. The rooms are musty in general. The bed was also very uncomfortable. Breakfast was good. Location is good and lake view is good. It's hard to find great hotels... More

In mid-October of 2015 I visited Guatemala. I stayed at Posada de Don Rodrigo in Panajachel (Lake Atitlan) for two nights and 3 days. Lake Atitlan is a beautiful place. The Lake is formed by several volcanos creating a bowl where water has accumulated forming the lake. I came to Lake Atitlan to learn about the local people, past and... More

Just returned from a 3 day stay at Posada de Don Rodrigo. Very nice accommodations and just a short walk to the lake. Please be aware of the ATM machines in town. I was told to use the machine at Dispensa Familia, a small market. The market has 2 machines, first one I tried didn't work, other machine did. I... More

We started our vacation in Guatemala at the sister hotel in Antigua (which we loved), and were excited to learn that they had a location in Panajachel. We originally booked a 4-night stay, but absolutely fell in love with Lake Atitacan and extended our stay for two more days. The hotel is really lovely and well maintained. Beds were hard,... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is located at the waterfront and next to the main (shopping and dining) street. From our room we had a great view over the lake onto the volcanos. The room are very convenient and nice looking. The hotel also features a small museum which gives a nice overview of the Maya's in... More

Both my brother and I enjoyed our stay here. It is close to the lake front. There is a great view of the lake from the patio and the dinner room. Our room was 103. It is at the end on the first floor. It faces the garden on the backside. The found the room to be quiet even though... More

We stayed for 1 night in Nov 2015. Room was in 2nd floor faced to parking slot. Our room was extremely dark and noisy. We heard everything our neighbors talked, even heard snoring during night. Bus drivers starting loud discussions and engine warm up at 5 am in the morning. Very poor sleep quality. Even ear plugs did not help.... More

Our family stayed at Posada about a year ago. Sorry for the late review. It was a very nice stay. We had a room with a lake view. The room was spacious and dark but, when I opened the drapes and doors....it was fine. The grounds are very well maintained and clean if a bit dated. My son loved the... More
