We just got back from our trip to Guatemala and we really wish we would have stayed at Hotel Atitlan longer, the place is paradise! The hotel is right on Lake Atitlan, the view is water and volcanoes, and the building is surrounded by beautiful gardens and exotic birds! You can really tell that the owner cares about the property... More

I just stayed at the Hotel Atitlan for two nights last week and wished I could have stayed a lot longer! What an amazing property! It had the most incredible setting within a private botanical garden (designed and tended by the owner!) with aviaries throughout! I woke one morning to find a monkey swinging in a tree just outside my... More

Beautiful hotel surrounded by large well kept gardens. The decor was fantastic throughout the hotel with different Guatemalan artwork everywhere. The dining room was spectacular with brightly coloured tablecloths and Fiesta Ware as dishes. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and dressed in indigenous clothing. The rooms were spacious and overlooked the lake and the volcanos. There was... More

I almost hate to write this review because of how fantastic this place is. I have been here every year for the past 5 years and it is truly a place of relaxation. The rooms are very clean but the views of the volcanos when you wake up can't be beat. The staff goes above and beyond from the time... More

Walking into Hotel Atitlan was like walking into a museum of Guatemalan artwork. Even the waiters and waitresses were neatly dressed in Guatemalan indigenous clothing and there was Guatemalan music playing softly in the background. The view from our balconies was of beautiful Lake Atitlan surrounded by 12 Indian villages, some on the side of inactive volcanoes draped with white... More

We first stayed here eight years ago, and were blessed to be able to go back recently. We weren't disappointed!! It's beautiful, well maintained, clean, and the food is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. Our room on the first floor had a nice patio with an excellent view of gardens, lake, and of course the volcanoes. Ahhh, having a... More

The hotel is off the beaten path of main street Pana but the grounds and the setting make up for the extra time getting to where it is at. We had a great game of chess outside our room and enjoyed the pool and the Jacuzzi in a most beautiful setting on Lago de Atitlan. Our stay included at no... More

We stayed here with my wife for a wedding. I was pleasantly surprised that this hotel is one of the most beautiful ones I have stayed in my life. The view from the lakeside rooms is fantastic. The gardens around the hotel area are extremely beautiful and the land is so vast that you can walk around the mazes and... More

This hotel is located on the outskirts of Panajachel, so you can enjoy the peacefulness of its setting while still being able to go into town for a $1-$2 “tuk-tuk” ride (itself a Guatemalan experience not to be missed!). The hotel’s open-air hallways are decorated with Guatemalan benches, wood carvings, candlesticks, sculptures and plants, and the rooms are furnished simply... More
