Prios: beautiful grounds, great lake view location, the gardens are magnificent, some rooms are renovated, but still need some tlc Cons: staff didnt really go out of their way to ensure that my reservation for a grand suite be close to the lobby or on the ground floor due to my hip problem that i have developed, i had to... After a heart breaking incident at an Overrated french managed place near San Antonio Palopo, we decided to back to our old known place, where everybody is welcome: Hotel Atitlan. Upon arrival the ever strong presence of the the owner, Doña Susan, an american expat and widow of DON ARTURO the co founder, welcomed us and suggested to try the... More

I spent one night at the Hotel Atitlan and thank God that was it. First off, I will rate them highly in helping me arrange reasonably priced shuttle reservations from elsewhere in Guatemala. Though they could have done a better job with communicating the shuttle confirmation, I was picked up when scheduled and for the agreed upon price with the... More

I recently stayed at Hotel Atitlan with my elderly parents and whilst the view of the lake is fantastic and the hotel grounds are kept impeccably, the room left a lot to be desired. There were barely any amenities in the room and it simply didn't scream anything near what we paid. The staff were quite friendly and that's always... More

Beautiful, serene, hospitable hotel. I can't say enough about the gorgeous gardens surrounding the rooms and pool area. It's a joy just to sit peacefully amidst all the exotic flowers. The hotel is beautifully decorated in Guatemalan antiques. Their shop is also nice. You can find most items cheaper in Panajachel but if you want to avoid the hassle you... More

We came to this hotel because of a wedding. The suite we were in had no black outs so were we awake at 6am. The bed very uncomfortable as were the pillows, no turn down service. The price for the room was ridiculously over priced. The gardens are lovely with a spectacular view. The food is quite poor.

My family and I stayed there for two nights and it was wonderful. The hotel had beautiful views of the lake and volcano. The staff was very accomodating and polite. They provided wonderful room service to my 90 year mom who could not walk to the restaurant. Enjoyed many walks through their beautiful gardens. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Large room with safe, but no fridge. Balcony overlooking lovely gardens and with a stunning view to the volcanoes across the lake. The garden was alive with hummingbirds, orioles and many other species. Good restaurant and friendly staff It's a bit out of town - not walkable, but only a short taxi ride. The setting makes up for it.

Lovely hotel, beautiful grounds with lots of birds, plans and flowers and a stunning view of the lake and volcanoes. Everything was superb except that the food in the restaurant was poor. The bedrooms all have a view of the lake which is good and the rooms are very comfortable. the main hotel areas are decorated beautifully.

We stayed in this hotel which our guide said was the best in town. It really looked like paradise with an enormous garden with beautiful flowers and birds and nice corridors and rooms with interesting details. The restaurant overlooking the Atitlan lake and the volcanoes was also wonderful with colorful plates and glasses. However the food was not only boring... More
