I was part of a group of 23 people in Guatemala for a medical mission trip. The hotel was very accommodating to our needs, having staff come in early to start the breakfast buffet at 6am, giving us an "office" room to store our bags of supplies in each night, etc. My room was on the 3rd floor which had... Lynn and I spent two nights at this, one of the finest lodges that we have ever stayed at. This lodge was at the end a tour of Guatemala with 8 of our best friends. The property juts out into Lake Atitlan. The owner has lovingly planted elegant gardens with beautiful flowers throughout the property. She also has aviaries on... More

I just want to say that I was overwhelmed by the help and hospitality of the service staff during our most recent stay; I speak fluent Spanish (and that may have helped) but my mother underwent a bad accident and hurt our back during her stay. As a result, she had trouble walking and we had to arrange for a... More

The positive reviewers on here haven't done their homework. Yes, the garden and location are spectacular but at the same time the garden seems a bit overwhelming as it blocks many parts of the view. The rooms are cramped, small and noisy. The balconies are nice yet I came to see the lake not the botanic wonders in front of... More

Spent a great time in Panajache at the classic Atitlan Hotel well kept and very good service. Full of US and international tourists great. Have access to one of the largest zip lines with the most incredible view of the Lake and Volcanoes. Amazing.

I don't get all the positive reviews of this place. Its a beautiful property, but most of that is the view (I.e. Natural/the lake and surroundings). The actual hotel gardens and grounds are pretty, but the buildings and facilities are OLD, dirty, outdated, run down.... The pool area and the tables/benches by the water - old cement. Felt like you... More

We spent three great nights at this beautiful property. The views are amazing and the gardens carefully looked after their staff. The restaurant is also very good with great service. The charming room had everything we needed and a nice balcony overlooking the garden and lake. Seems like the best place to stay in the Lake Atitlan area.

Lovely place to stay with beautiful grounds and absolutely spectacular views! You can't beat relaxing in the hotel pool with breathtaking views of the lake and volcanos, and then having a cold Gallo beer. Lovely rooms and a nice restaurant. Also good to stay here out of the main town area, but within easy walking or tuc-tuc distance.

Every good review you read is true. It's a fabulous property. I would highly recommend. But… We booked a double and a triple. When we arrived, they could not accommodate the triple - they made zero attempt to help us. Unfortunately, I don't speak Spanish and suddenly, no one on staff couple speak English. And our two rooms were separated... More

I stayed at Hotel Atitlan in May of 2014 and May of 2013. The hotel's location is spectacular, on the shore of Lake Atitlan with the volcanoes in the background. The vista is breathtaking. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed. I stayed in the suites and the rooms both had sitting areas and balconies to sit and rest and gaze... More
