When booking this hotel from Canada, I was reassured by Rene (the owner) that it was a safe hotel for a female travelling alone. My confidence was assured when I was picked up at the airport by a taxi - sent from the hotel - and brought safely to this little inn. Not knowing any Spanish, it was refreshing that... more

I cannot emphasise enough how much I loved the Posada Belen. I was staying in Guatemala City on my own for three weeks to carry out research for my Masters dissertation, and as I didn't know anyone in the city and was slightly apprehensive about the place, where I stayed was very important to me. So I was relieved and... more

Like any other country, Guatemala deserves to be treated with respect and common sense. If you do this, you will reap the benefits a hundred fold. As a newly solo female traveller, I have been in Guatemala three times, and have stayed at the Posada Belen on three separate occaisions, twice during the same Guatemalan stay. Guatemala is undervalued by... more

I found Posada Belen Inn listed in a tour guide book. That find alone was worth the price of the book. I had been in Guatemala City for two months and needed a hotel for several days while my spouse, daughter, son-in-law and 15 month old grandson came for a visit. I visited the hotel in advance and was very... more

It's true the hotel isn't in the best part of the city. But during the day ti's fine. We spent our last night there for the convenience of being close to the airport. We wak;ed to the city square (10 minutes) and enjoyed the vendors selling their wares along many of the streets. It's a big busy city but safe... more

I am an avid domestic and international traveler (for business and pleasure) and recently (in January 2009) stayed at the FABULOUS Posada Belen Museo Inn in Guatemala City! It was just the PERFECT place to stay; you can walk to all the amazing sites of the historic old city; the inn itself is IMMACULATE with a WONDERUL staff. Owners Rene... more

Adorable little place in zone 1. We picked it for convenience to the bus lines (which we didn’t need because of a change in plans). The staff is exceedingly helpful and pleasant. Clean and convenient. US $49/ night, includes breakfast. more

We stayed at Posada Belen for our last night in Guatemala. We arrived around 6pm, and left again at 5am so can't say much about the surroundings except that our friend/driver was not happy about us staying in that area and told us not to go outside at night. We stayed at the hotel in the evening and had dinner... more

I have just returned from my 14th stay at the Posada Belen. I've been traveling to Guatemala for seven years, happened upon the PB website before my first trip in 2002, and have stayed there on my way to and from the highlands since then. I love the rooms, the staff, the location, the owners, the food, the patio ---... more

I spent the last 2 nights in Posada Belen. Just like other reviewer said, the location is not easy to find...even the shuttle bus driver took 10 minutes around the corner since there are two calle 13 "A". But the people there are very nice and talked to you like family and even helped to correct my poor Spanish:P The... more
