The hotel has largely lived up to many of its negative reviews...but it's not all bad. I did find a dead cockroach on the floor in my room but it was at least dead. Otherwise the room was clean even I fthe carpet and decor was a bit old and faded. The bed linnens were clean with no bugs of... More

I first stayed at the Hotel Spring 25 years ago and looked forward to being back. The rooms haven't changed much -- if you are much over 5'8" you will hit your head on the bathroom door frame (at least in Room 8). Our bodies felt the bedsprings as well - but that may be par for Guatemala (and more... More

we got in very late at 2 am and went to lay down and there were worms in the bed. We asked for a different room and was told it was to late. Breakfast was very expensive too! The rooms were large and did accommodate many people. The rest of the room was clean.

I stayed here a few different times while traveling with a group. The place is secure, and staff was friendly and helpful. There is wifi, drinking water, and a microwave for guests. Breakfast isn't included, but a small restaurant on the premises serves basic and very affordable breakfasts. There's a large courtyard to sit and chat with friends or to... More

This hotel has definitely seen better days, but it was sufficient and a good deal for the price. I stayed here for just one night and fit my needs. They provide towels, a clean room, tv, and hot water. The walls are a little thin-- I was next to the bathroom and was woken up by some early morning showerers.... More

We recently stayed at the Spring Hotel - both at the beginning and end of our trip to Guatemala. The building is an old colonial style and feels very authentic. Lovely court yards and all stone. The rooms we stayed in were fine - one a bit better than the other but both were adequate. The location is close to... More

The location is not ideal but is close to LITEGUA bus terminal and some of the zone1 tourist attractions, like the Presidential Palace, Cathedral, Central Plaza, Underground market with many gift stores, and some old churches. You need to take a taxi to see other interesting places like the Archaeological Maya Museum or Zona Viva and the taxis will cost... More

I needed to find a place to stay for more than a week and thus did not have a huge budget. I should have swallowed the extra cost though because the Hotel Spring is a disaster. Walls are thin, no soundproofing and the staff makes little attempt to control noisy hotel guests. When I was there a group of young... More

I needed cheap digs in central downtown, plain and simple. I knew about Hotel Spring for years, but I usually choose more expensive options. This trip required I stick to a budget. For the price I could not complain. Helpful staff, good security, hot water if you wait a while, while and a roof over my head. I like the... More

We stayed one night here as it was close to the bus station and we were taking an early morning bus. We only made the reservation the night before so got the last room in the place. It was grim but clean. There was no glass in the one window, although every other room in the place seemed to have... More
