World-class property in GC, with lovely rooms, fantastic king bed with Luxury thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets. Service througout property was friendly and professional. An excellent buffet breakfast spread was included in our rate. Location in GC's safe and secure Zona Viva a plus. Free shuttle to and from GC Airport. No complaints here. more

The checkin was good. I was booked into room 1424 and it was a nice corner room but the room was cold plus I tried to have a hot shower but the water was just luke warm not matter how long I let the water run – it was like this at 8pm then the next day at 4am and... more

As typical to the Intercontinental hotel, comfortable rooms and soft fluffy comforter, soft king size bed, great staff at check in and around the hotel. Free drink tickets to use in the bar during happy hour. Pool area was nice, but we were very disappointed that the Jacuzzi was broken, and the water in it was ice cold since that... more

We stayed at the Real Intercontinental Guatemala, Guatemala City for one night on our way home from Panama. We were charged as booked at check-out. However, when we received our credit card bill we discovered that an additional charge of $327.66 was made at check-in. First we called the Intercontinental 800 number where we made the reservation. They said we... more

The Intercontinental, usually thought to be #2 in Guatemala City to the Westin Camino Real, is actually better in some respects: Rooms on high floors on the back side of the hotel are much quieter that most rooms in the Westin, the hotel's physical plant is newer, and its lay-out is simpler -- all pluses for business travelers. A recent... more

My mother and I stayed there from Jan. 26-28. It was a very nice experience. Definitely luxury in the middle of a third world country. There is a shopping center two blocks in either direction and a wide selection of restaurants all around. Try Cebollines or Casa de los Sanchez for great meals. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the... more

We ended our ten day trip of Guatemala with a stay at this great hotel. After seeing the poverty of the Mayan population in the highlands, it was really weird to be staying in a 5-star hotel complete with lush robes, feather beds, and marble counters... but I loved it! We paid $85 plus a 22% tax for one night.... more
