Best ambiance, courtyard beyond imagination. Parrots very cool...Rooms large but old. Do not get any rooms on the outside walls near street. Can be very noisy all night. Bathrooms, tiny cheap towels and very 1960's needing remodel desperately. If you get the breakfast included in your package make sure it is on your receipt for All days.'' or you will... More

Santo Tomas is in a beautiful, monastery-like setting. Right in the Center of Chichi and close to the market. They'll make a fire in your room during the cold nights and it's truly a pleasant experience. Attentive staff. So why only three stars? Because they charge extremely high prices for what you get. While the room is cute, it's pretty... More

I wish I was going back this week! I loved staying here while working with Salud y Paz mission. I cannot imagine feeling safer or more serene than I did among the faith icons and tile stairways of this hotel. The restaurant was delicious and provided a wide variety of foods. They were able to accommodate several dietary needs in... More

Had some tacos, cheap but not good. All groups of tourist make a stop at this hotel/restaurant to show the inner garden and also to send tourists to the toilets (paying a fee). The one and only option and it is quite ok. There are beautiful parrots in the garden.

Santo Tomas is a must-see in Chichicastenango, even if you don't stay in the hotel. The front gardens are lush and beautiful, filled with exotic birds. The reception area sells nice gifts and exchanges dollars for quetzales at a fair rate. I also like the restaurant - service is very good there, and they have delicious sandwiches.(I recommend you avoid... More

We did not stay at the hotel but did eat at the restaurant. We had their buffet which was a bit pricey for the area (150Q) however it had an outstanding array of food choices. All of the food choices were delicious. You can order off a menu as well. We ate next to the courtyard - the setting was... More

We found ourselves liking this place in spite of itself. It is unabashedly a large-group tourist hotel, with, for example, waiters in rather hokey costumes staffing the huge dining room. But we enjoyed our very large room with its expansive king bed. When we first arrived at our room we were concerned because it was extremely chilly. But to our... More

We went there for a morning breakfast which was fantastic. It was my first time there and I loved it. Great location for the Sunday market which was also incredible. I will be back for sure!! Beautiful gardens and fountains and birds.

I came here with a group of 13, on a medical mission trip...Feb. 21 - Feb. 28, 2015. This hotel is only about 1 street over from the market....great location. I loved the Colonial atmosphere and the centrally located courtyard, with the rooms surrounding it. My most memorable day was on a Sunday....after browsing through the market place, several of... This hotel is only a couple of blocks from the central plaza where the public market is (market runs Thursdays and Sundays). It is also surrounded on 3 sides by Route-15 which is the main highway that connects ChiChi (short for Chichicastenango) to the rest of Guatemala so it is important to get an inside room that does not face...
