I was not impressed. The location is good for the market but that's about it. The desk clerk didn't tell me when I checked in that the hot water only works during designated times of the day. The door to my room didn't lock. It appeared to, but a slight push was all it took to open. Breakfast is good,... More

Not many places to stay here so this may be the best choice. Rooms decorated in Latin American style. Dark. Bottom of the line amenities. Take your reading light. The desk clerk was NOT muy amble. Checking in on Saturday, we had to hunt down someone for a beer. The pool area needs to spruced up but is okay for... More

Spent a couple of days in Chichi on a business trip, but I went on Thursday (market day, which is what the town is known for) and the hotel was packed. This hotel is known not only for its architecture (which although is made to look like an old Spanish monastery, it's only a few decades old); the place is... More

This is our 5th stay at the Santo Tomas in the past few years. We shop for handicrafts for our business, and there are many good prices to be had at Chichi market. It always makes for a better trip to arrive in Chichi,Sat afternoon, the day before the market. There are often good deals to be had the day... More

Although this place seems like a old monastery, it is only about 40 years old. It has a beautiful courtyard, a roof top pool and fireplaces in the rooms. We visited in January 2014 and the weather was too cool for swimming, but the fireplace was very much appreciate...the rooms have no heat! We came for the legendary Chi Chi... More

Way expensive by Guatemalan standards, but this hotel is really lovely. We paid $110 for one night (and not a night prior to market). The rooms are huge and ours had a fireplace. There are several courtyards within the hotel and also secure parking. A great splurge.

the place is really beautiful. lots of trees and flowers. birds. artworks. even a marimba group playing when we were there. all this makes a great ambiance. the rooms are very basic. and can be extremely cold in the winter (no serious heating system). the bathroom is ridiculously small. the restaurant has a nice atmosphere with waiters dressed typically. however... First impression not so good when you get yelled at leaving the bathroom. Apparently you need a ticket to use it, not my fault someone left the door unlocked. I asked the first waiter for menus after twenty minutes of waiting. I asked the second one ten minutes later after watching the first one chat with someone else instead of... More

We stayed one night prior to market day and were happy with this hotel, though we also agree it's overpriced. The hotel itself is beautiful and has wonderful gardens and decorations, similar to upscale hotels in Antigua. The restaurant was fine and service pretty good, even with a large tour group staying there. Our room next to the street was... More

The title of the review says it all... The signs for lunch point to the hotel lobby, so you queue up for 15 minutes to be told to go to the restaurant. After 15-20 minutes of being ignored you decide to use the bathroom, but you need a ticket from reception, so you have to go back and wait in... More
