I stayed at the Americus Garden Inn following a visit to the nearby Andersonville POW Museum. The beautiful and well-maintained building dates back to 1847 and has a very interesting history which is spelled out on the Inn's website. My room, the Veranda Suite on the first floor, was very comfortable, quiet, spacious and well-appointed. I enjoyed chatting with Susan,... More

Dear InnatMonticello: Thank you so much for sharing your experience at the Americus Garden Inn along with the photos of the house, garden and breakfast. It was a pleasure meeting you and hosting your stay to our area. For folks visiting Andersonville National Historic Site, our home, 1847, helps set the stage for that time in our nation's history, 1864.... More

This was our second stay at the Americus Garden Inn. Susan greeted us as we drove in and made us feel immediately at home. Our room was very clean and beautifully appointed with rose petals on the bed and a sign over the door for our fortieth wedding anniversary. After a comfortable night sleep, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Susan... More

What a wonderful experience my wife and I had staying at the Americus Garden Inn for our 22 wedding anniversary. The location was centrally located to the things we wanted to see and do. Andersonville just 10 miles north and Providence Canyon State Park just west about 30 miles. Susan was a terrific host and fabulous cook. Thank you for... More

Dear Patrick: Thank you for allowing us to be the perfect romantic place to celebrate your 22nd anniversary. Between hiking at Providence Canyon and experiencing the despair of Andersonville National Historic Site and the National P.O.W. Museum, we are so glad you allowed yourselves a special place to have some couple's time. There are plenty more things to do in... More

After reading reviews of the Americus Garden Inn, we decided to give it a try for our recent Stay-cation. Boy, the reviews did not do this place justice. It was the perfect place for my wife and I to kick back, unwind, re-connect, and do exactly what we wanted to do: a lot of nothing for our 2 night stay.... More

Thank you Susan for such a wonderful 2 night stay! Hospitality, food, grounds & ambiance were the best! Free wifi was a nice plus also. Our main reason for coming to the area was to see the Andersonville Civil War Prison & Cemetery. You cannot get a finer & more delicious breakfast than here. We cannot wait to come back just to... Dear Cheri C: What a pleasure it was hosting your visit to our area. Staying in an 1847 antebellum home really sets the stage for a visit to the Andersonville National Historic Site, the location of the most infamous Civil War prison. I really enjoyed meeting you and look forward to future visits. There's lots more to see and do... More

My husband and I had the pleasure to stay in the spacious Library room. Our wonderful hostess, Susan, prepared the room beautifully even laying out reading materials that she anticipated we might be interested in (and we were!) The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in and there were great reading lamps for the... More

Dear Susan T: Thank you so much for your kind review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in the Library Suite. It is our least expensive room, but, for those who don't want or need a tub, it is perfect. It was my Mom's favorite room when she used to come to visit. And, as you mentioned, since... More

We stayed here two nights for a family vacation before taking my daughter off to college. It was amazing. Both of my teenage children said it was one of there favorite vacations. We enjoyed the house, Susan, the breakfast (super yummy), the peace, quiet and relaxation. We did puzzles, played family games, watched a couple of movies, and sang around... More

First of all, why this woman does not have her own cooking show i don't know. I'd pay the room rate just for the breakfast. Seriously - baked eggs wrapped in bacon, fruit salad with figs from the garden, their own blend of coffee, and scones and muffins so light they practically hover off the plate. The hosts are what... My husband and I recently returned for a stay on our way back home. It had been three years, so we storlled the garden to see the new plants and how it had grown. From the photos, I was expecting a beautiful mansion - and that's just what I found. The room was on the first floor as requested. It was beautiful - king bed and immaculate.
