Without a doubt, the most luxurious property we stayed in 10 days in Belize. Relaxing environment, felt as if we'd stumbled out of the jungle into Paradise. Great hot showers, and comfy bedding. Pride in ownership, hospitality and commitment to service show up in the attention to detail throughout. Which made two incidents all the more disturbing: Our party of... More

Jess and I stayed for 5 nights at the lodge and had a wonderful time. The service was fantastic, the food was fresh & delicious, and our every need was met quickly and with a smile. Rob was an excellent host and Steve was an amazing tour guide. He absolutely made the trip for us. So happy to have visited!

I had the pleasure of staying here during the off season for two nights. This is not my first experience with an Eco lodge and I think Rob and the rest of the staff do a fabulous job. They were very accommodating and flexible both to my schedule and the weather. They have lots of activities to do no mater... More

Finally visited The Lodge at Big Falls after years of travel plans being thwarted by work commitments. Delighted that I finally made it to Rob and Marta's fantastically relaxed forest hideaway. Toledo is a fascinating region and the guides take great pains to introduce one to the community, culture and stunning natural charm of the district but after a couple... More

We were booked here by Audley travel. Arrived by air. Met by Estevan for transport to LABF. Greeted by Marta with welcome drink and short tour. Taken to one of several private lodges on the river with full unlimited electric and water. Three wonderful days to relax, experience wonderful internationally inspired cuisine, swim (both pool and river available), and visit... More

It was wonderful to meet you both and I can assure you that we get quite as much from our guests as they do from us. We enjoy their company very much. Many thanks for taking the time to write such a generous, erudite and accurate review. I agree with every word. Marta and I and all our staff look... More

Friends and I stopped in at The Lodge at Big Falls more or less by accident in February this year. We were riding dirt bikes across Belize and having a fantastic trip but by the time we got down near Punta Gorda we'd had our fill of $30/night hostels and, unfortunately, a particularly bad experience the night before with bedbugs... During our recent visit to the Toledo District of Belize my husband and I had the good fortune to stay at the Lodge at Big Falls for a few days. We thoroughly enjoyed the few days that we got out of town and stayed in this pristine rainforest/Mayan region at the Lodge, with Marta and Rob Hiron. They have done... More

We couldn't have imagined a better first stop for our honeymoon. Upon our arrival at the Lodge at Big Falls we were greeted by our guide Steven who is very knowledgeable about the area's natural history. He was more than eager to tell us about all of the bird species and flora and fauna in the area. Having been a... More

My wife and I stayed at the Lodge at Big Falls from March 9-13, 2014. It was a thoroughly enjoyable visit in every way. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. The Lodge property is ideally situated at a bend in the Rio Grande river, allowing easy access for tubing and kayaking at your leisure. The bird life on the... More

We were so glad that the Big Falls was recommended by Audley travel. We flew from Tikal via Belize in small planes and arrived at Punta Gorda to be met by Stephen who was our guide during the three night stay. At the Lodge we were warmly welcomed with a cool drink by Marta, and offered a snack lunch. Our... More
