We were so grateful to have made the trek into the rainforest for the last 3 days of our honeymoon at Lamanai Outpost Lodge. After spending a week diving on Ambergris Caye, Lamanai staff picked us up at the airport and we started our adventure by car and boat. The lodge is nestled at the edge of a lagoon and... more

For adventure in a remote part of Belize, the Lamanai Outpost Lodge was terrific. With its thatched roof cabins, open-air dining and riverside location, Lamanai was a huge hit with our three children and with us parents, too. Its location within walking distance of the Lamanai ruins means you can tour the ruins before or after the masses of daytrippers... more

Lovely place to stay, however talk with folks from Indian Church Village and you will find out some very unethical practices that have deeply impacted them. It is not how I want to invest my money in an international adventure. The Maya Lamani ruins were breath taking! Beautiful area! more

We had a fantastic experience at Lamanai Outpost Lodge. Our room was spacious and overlooked the beautiful New River. The room was very clean, comfortable and breezy. There was a family of howler monkeys living in a tree above our cabana. We were startled in the wee hours when they started howling; we didn't know what to expect. We took... more

We spent half of our honeymoon at the Lamanai Outpost Lodge and had a wonderful time. The cabanas are great - artfully combining luxury with rustic charm. The location is great (if a little isolated), you're right on a large lake (they call it a lagoon) and very close close to a cute little village and within walking distance of... more

This is a delayed post, but I just started on TA. My wife and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon last October. Everything couldn't have been more perfect. For anyone who shys away from places like this in the "rainy season", try and reconsider. It definitely rains every day. But it is only for 30 minutes to an... more

We stayed here for 3 nights as beginning of our honeymoon. After a road+river trip that takes about 2 hours we arrived at the friendly greetings of the hospitality staff and a choice of fruit punch with or without local rum. The thatched roof cabanas were fantastic, and there was great food made to order. Everyone was very helpful and... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lamanai. The lodge is small, with excellent home cooking and great staff. The team worked hard to ensure we had plenty of activities and looked after us exceptionally well. We would highly recommend a stay here. It's not meant to be 5 star luxury, it's an eco lodge with great service, lovely people and... more

Six of us(3 generations including 9 and 13 year olds) spent 4 of our recent 12 nights in Belize at Lamanai. My husband and I had visited several years ago with a birding group and I wanted my family to enjoy this unique place too. Contrary to recent reviews, the food and service were fine and the staff was eager... more

Incredible location along one mile wide lagoon. We had the lagoon front room for 4 nights. Enjoyed regular trips and special trips. Liked the breakfast along the river. Incredible sights of fishes and birds including 5 foot tall Mother and Daddy Jabiru Stork with their 2 young babies on the nest. Ruins tour was great. Captured highlights on video. Liked... more
